About the role
In the payroll unit, which consists of eight employees, payroll administrators and payroll specialists focus on pensions and statistics, along with a unit manager. We work closely with two system developers and the municipality's staffing unit.
As a payroll administrator, you will work consultatively to support the municipality's managers and employees in various payroll issues. You will independently administer and manage the entire payroll process and ensure that the correct salary is paid out on time to our employees. You will check and quality assure the incoming documentation, write employer certificates and other certificates, and solve payroll-related problems using applicable regulations and collective agreements. You will have contact with and handle cases for external authorities and organizations, such as the Social Insurance Agency, the Enforcement Authority, and Afa Insurance.
You, along with your colleagues, are responsible for our appreciated Payroll Support, which we staff three phone times per week and continuously respond to incoming questions via email. A good reception with a high level of service is something we see as a given in this role! The work also includes participating in and conducting training, which requires you to be a good communicator and provide information in a pedagogical manner.
We work with continuous improvements in our working methods, and you will naturally be involved in efforts to streamline and digitize our processes. Our work today is virtually entirely digital, and we have also made significant progress in fully digitizing our personnel records. We have a recurring forum for our competence development and ongoing meetings for payroll issues to provide good service to the organization.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with several years of experience in payroll administration and who is confident in the entire payroll process. You have an education in payroll, such as a payroll specialist or payroll consultant, or another education that the employer finds equivalent. You need to have good knowledge of the laws and agreements governing payroll work, such as General Regulations, the Annual Leave Act, LAS, etc., as well as good knowledge of Excel and other programs in the Office suite.
It is an advantage if you have experience with the Heroma system, which is our payroll system, and if you have previously worked within a municipality or region.

You are not afraid to take your own initiatives and are open to helping where it is most needed. You are goal- and result-oriented, and we value a humble approach and a high sense of service.
Furthermore, you find problem-solving in everyday life enjoyable, and you want to influence, develop, and streamline. We provide support to our operations, which means you must master the Swedish language and express yourself very well in both speech and writing.
About your new workplace
The payroll unit is part of the municipal executive administration, located at the municipal office, which organizationally belongs to the HR department. The unit is a central function responsible for payroll management, system administration, personnel statistics, pensions, and offers operational support to the municipality's operations. We pay out about 4,000 salaries every month and have made significant progress in digitizing our various payroll processes.
