We are looking for a senior Business Controller for our client.

Assignment Description

We are seeking an experienced economist who reports to the CEO. The ideal candidate should enjoy combining strategic financial responsibility and coordination with daily operational leadership and teamwork. The role requires a person who is strategic, analytical, and structured, with a solution-oriented approach. Furthermore, the candidate should be clear and communicative in their leadership and feel confident taking responsibility before the board and CEO. We expect you to be independent, responsible, and unpretentious, with extensive experience working in politically governed organizations. You will lead and coordinate the overall financial operations and support the team, primarily the financial controller, accounting economist, and project controller. The assignment includes both strategic and operational components and requires the ability to switch between the big picture and details. You will be part of the management team and actively contribute to the strategic development of the organization. You will lead and be responsible for budget and forecasting processes as well as financial reporting and follow-up. You will be responsible for financial analysis and decision support for management and the company's group leaders. You will participate in steering groups as an expert in finance and corporate governance, supporting the organization with your expertise in the field. The assignment also involves driving and coordinating ongoing development work within governance, management, and internal control.

Must-haves:

• Master's degree in economics or equivalent higher education in finance or public administration.
• At least 10 years of experience working with finance in municipal operations, preferably within a municipal company.
• Several years of documented responsibility for budget and forecasting work as well as financial reporting and follow-up in a leading position.
• Experience in management team work.

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience with organizational changes.
• Experience in business development and change management.
• Good system knowledge in Nexxus Hypergene, BI support, Cognos, and Stratsys.
