The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS also implements secure youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. Working with us at SiS will provide you with an exciting challenge. No matter where in our organization you work or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformations.
SiS Youth Home Råby accommodates both girls and boys. We have both secure and open placements for secure youth care as well as treatment places for youth placed under the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU).
Job Description
Do you want to help create hope for vulnerable youth? Do you want to work in a school with small classes and teaching based on trust and what the students can achieve? Are you curious about what it’s like to work as a substitute teacher at SiS? Then there is an opportunity to apply for a position with us at SiS Youth Home Råby!
We receive youth who are in problematic and tough life situations. Many have negative experiences of school and low trust in teachers and other adults. As a teacher with us, you will work with these students and have a unique opportunity to ignite their desire to learn and make them proud of themselves. Teaching takes place in smaller groups, allowing you ample time for each student. You always start from individual needs and build relationships that make the youth feel secure in school. You will conduct teaching in a group with fewer students based on their needs and conditions.
Qualifications
We are primarily looking for someone who is nearing the end of their studies to become a high school teacher. Previous teaching experience is an advantage.
We are looking for substitutes in the subjects: Mathematics, English, Music, subjects within Natural Sciences and Biology, which may also be in combination with other subjects.
The work requires you to have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing.
Your personal suitability is important for the role. You have good collaboration skills, initiative, a flexible approach, and a positive view of students. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of humanity, great empathy, and can build good relationships. As a person, you are secure, stable, and calm, even in stressful situations. You share our vision of being a place for change, which permeates your interactions, engagement, and approach.
At SiS, we value good employee relations. This means that you, as an employee, take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good collaboration. Read more about our employee relations.
