We are now seeking an assistant for the Department of Geotechnics.
Job Responsibilities
As an assistant, your tasks may vary, and the work should provide insight into the academic world at the faculty where you are studying.
The responsibilities for this position include:
- Teaching exercises in the foundation engineering course.
- Participation in the assessment of examination assignments in foundation engineering.
- Administration.
The assistant position pertains to the course VGTN01. See the schedule for VGTN01 Foundation Engineering at http://www.lth.se (http://www.lth.se) for times of exercise sessions during weeks 13-22. Work with examinations is primarily scheduled for weeks 22-23.
Qualifications
Eligible for employment as an assistant is someone who is admitted to education at the undergraduate or advanced level at the faculty (or a related subject for the joint institutions). The degree must not have been obtained.
Requirements for the position are:
- Admitted to a civil engineering program or equivalent education deemed relevant by the employer;
- Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written;
- Passed course in Geotechnics of at least 5 credits;
- Passed course in Foundation Engineering or equivalent of at least 7.5 credits;
- Good communication skills.
Desirable qualifications for the position include:
- Knowledge in Geotechnics at an advanced level;
- Interest in further studies and work related to Geotechnics;
- Previous teaching experience;
- Good collaboration skills;
- Interest in contributing to others' learning.

Other Information
The employment is temporary from March 15, 2026, to June 15, 2026, and concerns a workload of 12%. The employment must not negatively affect the assistant's studies. Regulations regarding educational employment as an assistant can be found in the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 2017:284), Chapter 5, Sections 8-12. The employment is covered by the working time agreement for teachers.
