Workplace Description

The research group for neurodegenerative diseases focuses on defining and understanding biological processes in Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative diseases.

We analyze large datasets collected from patients and cognitively healthy volunteers, who undergo extensive examinations with neuroimaging, biomarker measurements, and neuropsychological tests. Our group applies advanced statistical methods to these unique and state-of-the-art datasets to model processes related to aging and disease. The project assistant will be part of a growing multidisciplinary team of neuroscientists, statisticians, biologists, and engineers dedicated to increasing the understanding of neurodegenerative diseases. The long-term goal of our research is to contribute to the development of new treatments for neurodegenerative diseases where effective treatments are still lacking. The research group is led by Dr. Jacob Vogel, and the position is located at the Biomedical Center (BMC) in Lund.

We strive to create a positive, supportive, and inclusive work environment characterized by respect and mutual consideration. Our goal is to provide an environment that promotes development and is stimulating for all employees.

The project assistant will support this work by processing and analyzing large-scale tau-PET data, adapting existing analysis pipelines, and analyzing new data. Other tasks within the research group may also be assigned. The position may also involve international travel to support training and career development.
