About the Workplace

Brages preschool is a newly built preschool located in Hyllie, in a dynamic and rapidly growing area focused on environmentally friendly solutions. You can find us west of Hyllievångsparken and north of Almviksvägen. The preschool borders the themed playground “the secret city” and is close to park areas.

The preschool has eight departments, distributed over three floors. On the first floor, there are two departments, shared spaces for the children, and a kitchen. On the second floor, there are four departments, and on the third floor, there are two departments as well as shared spaces for the children such as an atelier, movement room, library, and pedagogical kitchen.

The outdoor environment has been designed based on the concept of Peter Pan. The preschool yard has been divided into three zones; the safe, the dynamic, and the wild. Within these, areas with different characters have been created such as Pirate Bay, The Magical Forest, Tipi Village, The City, The Maidens' Lagoon, and The Fairies' Valley. Here, opportunities for varied activities for both younger and older children are provided.

Our vision is to work project-based and exploratory based on the children's interests and inquiries. This means that we listen to the children and their ideas and make them involved.

We organize the pedagogical activities so that children are given ample time, space, and materials adapted to age, maturity, and interest. Children should have experiences that stimulate imagination, creativity, and the ability to play. Nature, health, and the environment are the focus of the teaching, both indoors and outdoors.

Our core operations are built around children learning interdisciplinary and needing to have the opportunity to express themselves in various ways. Multilingual work and aesthetic learning processes therefore play a significant role in the preschool, and ateliers are at the center.

Our work with values and inclusion plays a significant role in our collective learning. We place great emphasis on respectful interaction in meetings with children, guardians, and everyone we encounter in everyday life.

Job Responsibilities

As a preschool teacher with a special assignment as an atelierista, you work to create a safe, fun, and educational preschool. Since the position is new, you have a unique opportunity to help shape its content. At the same time, you become part of a team where you work as a preschool teacher in the children's group.

You are responsible for, together with colleagues, driving projects forward. As part of the position, you will also work on developing the shared spaces, with a particular focus on multilingualism in the preschool environment.

Your expertise should contribute to increased knowledge and interest among all employees, where we see collegial learning as our greatest driving force. This ensures that children have the right to encounter a variety of forms of expression. The ambition is for aesthetic forms of expression to permeate the entire education at the preschool.

Together with colleagues and the deputy principal and principal, you will have the opportunity to drive learning processes and develop children's education. You lead and develop the pedagogical activities together with the rest of the team. You have a special responsibility for teaching and work with the curriculum as a basis based on each child's knowledge, experiences, and specific conditions. All preschool teachers in Malmö city have scheduled time (5 hours/week) for reflection, documentation, and learning with colleagues.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who wants to help create the best preschool for children and who, through your approach, contributes to building trust and security.

You have a preschool teacher degree and good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. You have training as an atelierista, or higher education in aesthetic expressions such as creation, drama, dance, and music. Experience in pedagogical documentation is a requirement as we use it as a tool to make children's participation and influence in education visible. Experience and knowledge of TAKK, visual support, and language-developing methods are meritorious.

You are not afraid to take leadership in the children's group while also being a safe and co-exploring adult. You are passionate about interaction and communication, and you give children the opportunity to use all their linguistic resources in preschool to help strengthen children's identity and self-esteem.

We would like you to contribute with commitment, creativity, and a drive to develop the operations. You meet each child with respect and attentiveness. Of course, you have a professional approach and work for good relationships with guardians and colleagues.

To be permanently employed as a preschool teacher, a preschool teacher license is required according to the Education Act.
