Job Responsibilities

Söderkullaskolan is looking for an engaged English teacher due to parental leave, who enjoys influencing and changing a dynamic environment. Here, you can make a difference!

You will teach English and elective English in grades 7-9. You are responsible for planning and teaching as well as assessing your students' acquired knowledge. Here you will have the opportunity to collaborate with your colleagues in an open and permissive environment where collegial exchange and learning are a given. Your teaching is grounded in governing documents and current research. You develop and drive your subject forward with high ambition for inclusive teaching for all students. Your teaching is also modern and creative and aims to reach and find strategies to strengthen your students, both academically and in their personal development.

At Söderkullaskolan, teachers are part of work and subject teams that together plan, assess, and are responsible for students' education and development. You should never feel alone in your role. Your subject team consists of two additional English teachers, one of whom is a lead teacher and subject responsible. At our school, you are led by managers who believe in the school as a learning organization where further education and personal development are valued.

Your role may include mentorship at the secondary level. Together with your team colleagues, you work to ensure that students have a well-functioning school experience. Planning, follow-up, evaluation, and continuous contact with guardians are examples of tasks included in the role. Your role may also include mentoring student teachers. Together we create an operation that meets the school's students and guardians in the best way based on their needs!

Qualifications

You who are applying are a certified teacher with the qualification to teach English in grades 7-9. You also have very good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing. If you have previous experience working as a teacher at the secondary level, we consider it an advantage.

You have a good insight into and knowledge of the school's governing documents and can effectively use them in your daily work. Furthermore, you have good didactic and pedagogical skills and can therefore lead and organize your work to create a study environment and a good learning environment for our students throughout their school day. Based on evidence-based research, you can develop your work and with good knowledge and experience, you work effectively with relevant digital tools. Of course, you have a professional approach and work for good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school.

To fit as a teacher with us at Söderkullaskolan, it is important that you have a natural pedagogical leadership in the classroom, are extremely structured, and are very skilled at handling youth with various support and adjustment needs. You also need to be good at managing conflicts between students. You see diversity as a strength and enjoy collaborating with your colleagues.

Söderkullaskolan is a K-9 school in southern Malmö where our approximately 850 students are at the center.
