Job responsibilities

As a piano teacher at Helsingborg's cultural school, you will teach individually and in groups. You will primarily offer ongoing courses but also short courses, workshops, and trial activities. The position also includes some administration and contact with guardians. You will be part of a team with piano and guitar teachers.

At Helsingborg's cultural school, we work with semester positions, which means that the organization offers holiday activities. Most of our activities take place in the afternoon and evening, and sometimes weekend work is also required.

Qualifications

You have an artistic and pedagogical university degree with piano as your main instrument, specializing in jazz. You have experience teaching children and youth in piano, both individually and in groups, from beginners to advanced students. Previous experience teaching at a music or cultural school is considered important. It is an advantage to have worked on genre-crossing and/or interdisciplinary projects.

We are looking for someone with a creative and curious approach to piano teaching who can teach and accompany in various genres, especially jazz. You listen to the students' needs and wishes and incorporate these into your genre-broad teaching. You allow all children to participate according to their abilities and develop their skills and self-confidence. You should also have a good ability to inspire and motivate, as well as support students in their musical development in both breadth and depth. As a colleague, you have good collaboration skills, take initiative, express yourself well in writing and speech, and have good digital competence. We place great importance on personal suitability.
