Correctional Services is Hiring Educational Supervisors

Correctional Services is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our primary goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, detention centers, and client transport.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Clients in need of education can apply or be referred to Adult Education. The instruction is individualized and takes place at the Kristianstad Detention Center Learning Center. You will support students both practically and pedagogically in the role of educational supervisor. The teaching teacher may be located locally or remotely at another facility. This means that you will have continuous contact with and collaborate with teachers and other colleagues across the country. Children and young people in detention, who are enrolled in a primary or secondary school in the community, may, if possible, receive assistance in establishing contact with the relevant school to continue their studies with their regular teachers. In this case, you are the link between the student and the school.

QUALIFICATIONS

In your role as an educational supervisor, you are a skilled educator with the desire and ability to motivate, inspire, and lead students to achieve their goals. You are clear and engaged in your work and have a good ability to create structure and systematic approaches. The work is carried out both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues, making good teamwork and initiative important qualities, as well as the ability to work independently.

It is important for us that you share Correctional Services' fundamental values of a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and belief in the human will and ability to develop. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute to ensuring that everyone is treated equally through your approach. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who has:

• High school diploma
• Experience working in educational activities in secondary school and/or adult education
• Ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish
• Good computer skills and experience working with digital support systems

It is advantageous if you have:

• Educational training with a focus on schools
