Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for a dedicated teaching assistant for Möllevångsskolan who wants to help create a safe and supportive environment for our students. In this position, you will have a special responsibility for a student with diabetes, which means that you will support the student in their self-care throughout the school day and during after-school activities. You will be responsible for and manage the technical and medical equipment used in the student's self-care. You will provide medical support in daily activities. An important part of the role is to communicate with guardians and collaborate with both classroom teachers and after-school staff in a close and professional team.

In addition to direct student support, you are also expected to have a good understanding of the school's governing documents and be able to apply them in daily work. You need to have specific knowledge about the conditions for students in need of special support and work with a low-arousal approach to meet the individual needs of students in a professional and safe manner.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has at least a high school education. It is an advantage if you have a focus on child and leisure studies or equivalent, such as the child and leisure program, health and care program, training as a leisure leader, or teaching assistant.

You have at least two years of work experience, of which experience working with children and young people is a requirement. It is an advantage if you have previously worked in primary school, especially with students who need special support.

You are a person who is calm, stable, and confident in making decisions, especially in care-related situations. You have the ability to adapt to the individual needs of the student and can act professionally and patiently even when difficult or pressured situations arise.

To succeed in this role, you need to:

  • Master Swedish well in both spoken and written form
  • Have good knowledge of the school's governing documents and the ability to apply them
  • Have specific knowledge about the conditions for students in need of special support
  • Have knowledge of low-arousal approaches
  • Have previous experience working with children with diabetes (requirement)
