Workplace Description
The position is located at the Department of Medical Radiation Physics, Faculty of Science.
The work will be carried out within Martin Bech's research group. The group includes several PhD students and post-docs. The workplace is physically located in the hospital area in Lund. All available technology is present at the workplace. The working environment involves significant interaction between physicists, engineers, and clinically active physicians and researchers. The operation aims to establish micro-CT as part of the clinical routine to improve diagnostics for various pathological conditions.

Job Responsibilities and Areas of Responsibility
In the project, we are collecting high-resolution microtomography data from tissue samples using phase-contrast X-ray. The purpose of the research project is to expand the existing data scanning pipeline through experimental data collection and simulation.
Your tasks will include collecting data by scanning various types of tissue biopsies and optimizing the protocols for this. For phase-contrast X-ray with grating interferometry, simulation of the X-ray wave will be performed in Python.

Qualifications
The following qualifications are required for the position:
- We are looking for someone with a degree equivalent to MSc in physics or another relevant field for the position's content.
- Experience in X-ray wave simulation, particularly for grating interferometry.
- Experience in programming in Python.
- Good oral and written skills in English are required.
- Good ability to communicate about scientific topics.
- Ability to collaborate.
Meritorious for the position are:
- Previous experience with similar tasks.
- Master's project in X-ray phase contrast imaging is desirable.
- Experience with synchrotron experiments is an advantage.
Additional Information
The position is a special fixed-term employment on a full-time basis during the period 2026-03-01 - 2026-06-30 or by agreement.
