Specific Subject Description

We are looking for 1-3 postdoctoral researchers for the following projects:

The first project, Dual Control at Scale: Learning-based control for systems with millions of states, is funded by an ERC Advanced Grant, a prestigious international research grant aimed at enabling groundbreaking research in the long term.

The project deals with learning-based control for high-dimensional data. Application to personalized immunotherapy for cancer is also addressed. The grant funds two postdoctoral researchers and several PhD students with complementary skills. In this call, we are looking for a postdoc with a mathematical focus, with expertise in systems theory and control engineering, and a postdoc with a strong mathematical/control engineering background combined with the ability to collaborate with cancer researchers and specialists in immunotherapy.

The second project: Complex Network Structure, Dynamics, and Control is funded by WASP, the Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems, and Software Program. Here, we use systems and graph-theoretical methods to describe dynamic phenomena in large-scale interconnected systems. Relevant topics include inference of structure and/or dynamics, optimal control in and of networks, or description of fundamental limitations, depending on the candidate's background. We are interested in complex networks that are both technical as well as social or sociotechnical.

Job Responsibilities

The main responsibilities as a postdoctoral researcher include conducting research. Teaching may also be included in the responsibilities, but no more than one-fifth of the working time. Within the framework of the employment, there is an opportunity for three weeks of higher education pedagogical training. The purpose of the employment is to develop independence as a researcher and create conditions for further qualification.

The job responsibilities include:

• Research in the subject area
• Teaching PhD courses
• Supervision of PhD students
• Administration related to the above responsibilities

Eligibility

To be eligible for employment as a postdoctoral researcher, one must have obtained a doctoral degree, or a foreign degree assessed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree, in the subject area of the employment. Proof that the eligibility requirement is met must be submitted no later than at the time the employment decision is made. Primarily, the applicant in question must have obtained their degree no more than three years before the application deadline. If there are special reasons, the doctoral degree may have been obtained earlier. Such reasons may include parental leave or relevant industry experience. The working languages are English and Swedish. Very good knowledge of English, both spoken and written, is a requirement for employment. An interest in learning Swedish during the employment in Lund is desirable.
