Job Responsibilities

Do you want to be part of driving school development work in mathematics at the secondary level? Söderkullaskolan is now looking for an engaged lead teacher in mathematics who is driven to improve the quality of teaching in the subject throughout the school.

You will teach our students in grades 7-9 and also be a mentor in one class. In this role, you will be responsible for systematically leading Language and Knowledge Developing Teaching in Mathematics (SKUM) and analyzing students' results based on NCM's Understand and Use Numbers. You will also, together with other mathematics teachers, develop the next steps and areas for improvement within mathematics education. As a lead teacher, you will develop and advance your subject with a high ambition for inclusive teaching for all students. Your teaching will also be modern and creative, aiming to reach and find strategies to strengthen your students, both academically and in their personal development.

At Söderkullaskolan, teachers are part of work and subject teams that collaboratively plan, assess, and are responsible for students' education and development. Collaboration, driving collegial learning, and maintaining good relationships will therefore be important in this role. You should never feel alone in your assignment. In addition to your team of teachers, you will also collaborate with subject teachers from other stages and a management team that believes in the school as a learning organization where professional development and personal growth are valued.

Qualifications

You who are applying are a certified teacher with qualifications and experience teaching mathematics in grades 7-9 and have a strong interest in being proactive in teaching in general and in mathematics specifically. To be considered for the position, it is a requirement that you are particularly skilled at teaching mathematics and reaching even those students who challenge pedagogically or socially in the classroom. You must also be able to communicate very well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. To be eligible for the lead teacher role, you should also be able to document at least four years of well-regarded work after graduation with teaching within the framework of one or more positions in the school system. Furthermore, we would like you to have experience mentoring other teachers and driving pedagogical development processes. Experience working as a lead teacher is an advantage, as is experience working with language-developing teaching.

Based on evidence-based research, you can develop your work and with a good knowledge and familiarity, you work effectively with relevant digital tools. Of course, you have a professional approach and work towards good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school.
