After-school Educator at Viby School

Your Role with Us

You will be responsible for teaching in the after-school program while also working as a resource/teaching assistant. Your main task is to create quality-assured teaching in the after-school program and school that is engaging and inspiring, in accordance with the curriculum goals. You will also work based on democratic values and consider what the students want in the after-school activities. To ensure a coherent approach regarding planning and different students' needs, collaboration with primary school teachers and preschool teachers is essential. Together with your colleagues, you will also be responsible for and lead outdoor activities and recess activities. Your relationships with the students are characterized by mutual respect, collaboration, trustful relationships, and positive expectations. You dare to set demands on the students and are clear about the expectations that are placed. Documentation of the after-school program is also included. Furthermore, you are active in collegial learning and systematically reflect on your work both individually and with others, linked to the goals of the program and influences from the outside world.

Who Are We Looking For?

You who apply should have a teaching license with the authority to conduct teaching in after-school programs in primary schools. We want you to have experience working in educational settings and preferably have previously worked as a teacher in after-school programs. It is an advantage if you have a good ability to teach students in need of special support. The ability to support students in managing conflicts that arise is also meritorious. If you have knowledge and interest in different cultures, that is also desirable. You are well acquainted with and adhere to the ethical principles for teachers and have the ability to promote democratic values, assuming that all children/students are equal. Furthermore, you manage leadership in the after-school program/classroom and work with goal management, planning, and documentation. You have the ability to inspire, create interest, and meet children at their level. The ability to choose pedagogical tools based on individual needs is required in the work. You should be able to integrate digital technology into daily activities and as a tool in your own work. Your good communication skills, responsiveness, and ability to collaborate are necessary to build trusting relationships with contacts both within and outside the school. To assess your application, you must attach your degree certificate and teaching license. When we wish to offer you the position, it is required that you present an extract from the police records to be able to employ you, according to the regulations in Chapter 2, Sections 31-33 of the Education Act.

Here, as a teacher in the after-school program, you will be an important part of our collective effort to create the best conditions for every student. Together with your colleagues in the after-school program, you will be responsible for the operations at our after-school program. Viby School is an idyllic village school located a few kilometers outside Kristianstad. Currently, we have about 125 students distributed across grades F-6, with approximately 90 students enrolled in the after-school program.
