Job Responsibilities
We are looking for someone who wants to teach wood and metal crafts for grades 4–9! In this position, you will only teach in half classes and belong to a cohesive work team. You will work closely with the textile crafts teacher, and together you will meet the students' needs to provide them with challenges and opportunities to develop their creativity through the craft process. The position currently does not include mentorship.
As a teacher at Munkhätteskolan, we expect you to:
- Create good relationships through curiosity and trust for students and colleagues, have high expectations and confidence in students' abilities, and provide an encouraging and supportive response.
- Develop your teaching through active learning with colleagues, where you share your experiences and support and develop everyone's teaching through a pedagogically challenging approach.
- Have a versatile teaching style with a variety of teaching methods, challenges, and adaptations based on each student's conditions, with a good connection to students' experiences and curiosity, and demonstrate good correlations between your teaching strategies and your students' results.
- Work with student influence in your teaching in such a way that students can develop and own their learning process and provide feedback to the student that moves them forward in their learning. All teaching should aim for each individual student's progression and results.
- Create a safe and permissive climate in the classroom through clear structure.
- Work to develop teaching based on scientific principles and proven experience.
Qualifications
You who apply are a certified teacher with qualifications for teaching grades 4–9 in wood and metal crafts. Previous experience as a teacher is an advantage. About the Workplace
Munkhätteskolan is a K-9 school and a special school for grades 1-6 with a total of 720 students. 150 fantastic employees work with us and make Munkhätteskolan the best school for every student. We work systematically and structured to provide the best conditions for learning. The school has a well-staffed student health team consisting of 2 counselors, 3 special educators, 2 school nurses, and study-career counselors. Our focus is on preventive and health-promoting work, as well as clear routines and processes in remedial actions. Student health work begins in the classroom. We have a well-functioning structure and work based on organization/group and individual. EHM, student health meetings, are an important forum where work teams, school management, and the student health team meet to highlight challenges and plan interventions through collaboration between different competencies and professions. Student health work is part of the school's systematic quality work.
