As part of Språka Lund - Lund Municipality's long-term investment in language, reading, and writing development from preschool to grade 9, we are now seeking two reading educators in early reading instruction.

As a reading educator, you will work closely with teaching and across schools to strengthen the quality of early reading instruction through structured, evidence-based methods and collegial development. The mission aims to ensure that more students crack the reading code early and gain a solid foundation for continued learning.

The positions are project employments for two years, with a mission to contribute to sustainable structures for early reading instruction within the framework of Språka Lund.

About the role and your tasks

The assignment is teaching-related and involves practically supporting teachers, teams, and schools in developing accurate, equitable, and research-based reading instruction from preschool to grade 3.

Your main tasks

• Provide teaching teachers with practical methodological support in evidence-based reading instruction.
• Model teaching and show how structured phonics instruction, phonological awareness, vocabulary, reading fluency, and reading comprehension can be built in clear progression.
• Support teachers in developing lesson plans, teaching materials, and routines in line with the Science of Reading.

Collegial development and guidance

• Guide teams in collegial learning.
• Observe teaching and provide concrete, constructive, and developmental feedback focused on the quality of teaching and student learning.
• Contribute to a shared understanding of teaching principles and progression.

Accurate support measures

• Support schools in planning, implementing, and following up on targeted support measures.
• Contribute to the early identification of students in need of support.
• Ensure that measures match students' actual needs.

Data-informed development work

• Analyze screening results (e.g., LegiLexi) and other relevant assessment data.
• Identify patterns at class and school levels.
• Suggest teaching adjustments based on analysis.

Collaboration and systematics

• Collaborate with special teachers, special educators, and student health.
• Contribute to the school's and the principal's systematic quality work.
• Strengthen the connection between teaching, support measures, and follow-up.

We are looking for you

We are looking for a certified primary school teacher with further education in language, reading, and writing development, preferably as a special teacher or special educator, and who has several years of experience teaching from preschool to grade 3. You have a strong foundation in evidence-based reading instruction, good knowledge of the Science of Reading and systematic phonics, and experience developing teaching together with colleagues. You thrive in a guiding role, have high relational competence, and want to contribute to building sustainable reading instruction in schools.

It is meritorious if you have experience working within the RTI model or similar support structure, are used to working with screening and follow-up data, such as through LegiLexi, and have experience working at the principal level or in assignments that encompass multiple schools.
