Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for 1-2 qualified teachers for after-school care at Mellanhedsskolan! You will belong to our process unit for after-school care for grades F-6 and become part of a wonderful team striving for the best school for every student!

At Mellanhedsskolan, you are offered an exciting assignment where you will have pedagogical responsibility in a department together with other certified teachers in after-school care. Based on the curriculum and governing documents, we will together create a safe learning environment in after-school care aimed at strengthening our students in both their knowledge development and personal growth while providing them with meaningful leisure time. In after-school care, we strive to promote diverse contacts, social community, and strengthen group relationships. The different departments work together as a process unit towards common goals.

You will be led by a manager who is responsible for the entire after-school care operation for grades F-6, whose background and experience primarily come from after-school care. The leadership is characterized by great responsibility and trust. The entire school management team collaborates to create the best possible conditions for our students' development and learning.

During the school day, you will collaborate with other staff at the school. You are expected to support the primary school teachers in the classrooms in the instruction they are responsible for. Mellanhedsskolan also strives to improve the quality of recesses and sees the task of developing these as a natural part of the role of a teacher in after-school care.

Together, the school and after-school care create an operation that meets our students and guardians in the best way based on their individual needs.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a certified teacher in after-school care. It is an advantage if you have previous experience in the profession and of collaborating during school hours.

You have a good insight and knowledge of the school's governing documents and apply these in your daily work. You continuously evaluate and develop your teaching. Your teaching is modern, and based on evidence-based research, you develop your work, and with good knowledge and experience, you work effectively with relevant digital tools. We expect you to see the student's strengths and want to help the student develop and reach as far as possible based on their conditions. Furthermore, you have good didactic and pedagogical skills that allow you to independently lead and organize your work to create a conducive study environment and a good learning environment for our students throughout their day.

To fit as a teacher in after-school care with us, it is important that you feel secure in your leadership and have the ability to adapt teaching so that students can succeed based on their conditions. It is necessary that you master Swedish in speech and writing to support our students.

About the Workplace

Mellanhedsskolan has operations for students from preschool class to grade 9, as well as adapted primary school for grades 1-9. Approximately 1100 students attend the school. In the autumn of 2022, Mellanhedsskolan took over the premises that were previously Slottstadens school. This means that Mellanhedsskolan operates in two school units. Mellanheden 1 serves grades F-3 while Mellanheden 2 (formerly Slottsstadens school) serves grades 4-9.
