Language Pedagogue at Lund University

Workplace Description

The Study Workshop offers support to students at undergraduate and graduate levels in academic writing, reading, and study techniques. This is done through individual tutoring, workshops, and lectures. We work in both Swedish and English. Some activities are conducted digitally and others on campus, both at the faculties and in the Study Workshop's premises. We also offer digital resources. Our focus is on student learning, and we also work in various networks to promote student learning at Lund University.

We are now looking for a language pedagogue at 60% to join our competent team that supports our students in Lund, Helsingborg, Malmö, and Ljungbyhed.

Job Responsibilities

As a language pedagogue, your main responsibilities will be to:

  • develop and offer lectures and workshops in the areas of academic writing, reading, and study techniques.
  • tutor students in academic writing, reading strategies, and study techniques in Swedish and English, also with a second language perspective. Tutoring is conducted both digitally via Zoom and in person.

Job responsibilities may vary.

Qualifications

Requirements for the position are:

  • proficiency in Swedish and English at a level equivalent to native speaker.
  • teacher's degree or equivalent pedagogical and linguistic competence relevant to the above-described tasks.
  • current experience in teaching and tutoring in study techniques and academic writing at the university level.

Meritorious:

  • Experience working at a university with a focus on study support activities.
  • Good ability to listen to and meet students' needs.
  • Knowledge of digital learning environments and AI in higher education relevant to the tasks.

The position is a temporary appointment at 60% from 2026-03-09 or by agreement until 2026-12-31.

The Student and Education section provides service and administrative support in the educational area and works for a good working environment for students. The section supports students regarding study-related health and illness, assistance with study techniques, academic writing, targeted pedagogical support for students with disabilities, and Supplemental Instruction (SI). The section's responsibilities also include admissions, degree issuance, and study documentation with its support systems. Additionally, the section works to evaluate and develop methods for quality assurance of the university's education. The section is the system owner for several study administrative support systems, including Lubas and Sunet Survey. The section also has local system responsibility for Ladok and the admissions system NyA. The section consists of about 100 employees, organized into the departments of Admissions, Examinations, Student Health, Student Support and Learning, Study Administrative Systems, and Educational Strategic Support.
