Workplace Description

The Department of Electrical and Information Technology at Lund University, Lund University of Technology (LTH), is one of the larger departments with about 120 employees.

The department consists of four divisions and a technical and administrative group. We are located in the E-building on LTH's campus in northern Lund, but also have teaching activities at the Helsingborg campus.

We are now looking for 1-2 assistants for the Department of Security and Network Systems to work on a Vinnova project under the leadership of the department head. More about Vinnova (https://www.vinnova.se/).

Job Responsibilities

As an assistant, your tasks may vary, and they should provide insight into the academic world at the faculty where you are studying.

The work involves development and research in cybersecurity within the Vinnova project. You will assist in producing experimental research results for the project. The aim is to investigate, by developing new software, whether suitable machine models can be found based on construction and configuration data for a container to generate access control profiles for Docker containers based on given configuration data.

The tasks include:

  • Research in cybersecurity.
  • Software development in cybersecurity.

Qualifications

To be eligible for employment as an assistant, you must be admitted to education at the undergraduate or graduate level at the faculty (or a related subject for the joint institutions). Your degree must not have been completed.

Requirements for the position are:

  • Admitted to undergraduate studies in electrical engineering or computer engineering or equivalent education deemed relevant by the employer.
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Documented skills in programming.
  • Knowledge of machine learning.

Meritorious for the position are:

  • Previous research experience.

Other

The position is temporary for the period 2026-02-16—2026-06-19, or by agreement, and concerns a scope of 50% of full working time, or by agreement. The position must not negatively affect the assistant's studies. Regulations regarding educational employment as an assistant can be found in the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 2017:284), Chapter 5, Sections 8-12. The position is covered by the Flexible Working Hours Agreement for T/A staff. We intend to hire 1-2 people.
