About the Role and Your Responsibilities

We are looking for a primary school teacher for leisure activities for a ten-month temporary position at S:t Hansgården's leisure center.

The primary school teacher for leisure activities works to plan and implement teaching and activities during leisure time. The teacher works pedagogically and socially based on the goals and guidelines of the organization as well as governing documents. The teacher is well acquainted with the current curriculum. The role includes, together with the work team, teaching students to promote their development and learning.

The primary school teacher for leisure activities is responsible for:

• Actively developing and managing the leisure center's activities in accordance with the current curriculum and evaluating the teaching.
• Creating a safe learning environment in the leisure center aimed at strengthening students in their knowledge development as well as social development.
• Designing teaching based on students' conditions and needs and actively working with student influence.

At S:t Hansgården, you will, as part of the leisure center's activities, work with students to manage a farm with animals and crops. It is very important that applicants enjoy working in teams and with a variety of tasks.

We are looking for you

We are looking for someone who has a primary school teacher degree with a focus on working in leisure activities and a teaching license as a primary school teacher in leisure activities, or other educational qualifications that the employer deems relevant for the position.

Since a large part of the leisure center's activities aims to manage a farm with animals and crops together with the students, it is advantageous if the applicant has education and knowledge in these areas:

• crafts
• animals
• gardening
• sustainability
• food and nutrition

Additionally, you should have an interest in practical work.

Previous experience working in leisure centers or in other educational settings is an advantage. Previous experience in crafts, animals, gardening, sustainability, or food and nutrition is also considered advantageous.

Given the nature of the tasks, it is a requirement to be able to work physically with sometimes heavy and demanding tasks.

About the Workplace

S:t Hansgården's leisure center is a municipal leisure center for students in grades 4-6. In addition, the farm is also open to the public. Both enrolled students and the public have the opportunity to meet farm animals and experience a unique educational environment. The outdoor environment has always been a focus, and most of the activities are conducted outdoors. The farm is run together with the students, and the staff actively works to develop the students' sense of responsibility.
