About the Workplace

Pilotens Preschool is located next to the Bulltofta recreation area and is part of an area together with Pilevallen and Vitklintens preschools. Together, we have continuous training and various forums for collegial learning. We also collaborate with special educators and psychologists to best direct efforts to what each individual preschool and child group needs.

Pilotens Preschool has eight departments spread over two floors, and the preschool's premises are bright and modern. The preschool also has a couple of shared environments such as a library, studio, and a square where many exciting meetings take place. The preschool yard is adapted for both younger and older children and has a gate that leads directly out to the Bulltofta recreation area, where children and educators go a couple of times a week for close nature experiences. The preschool also uses its two cargobikes to explore environments a bit further away.

The preschool works with a project-based approach where each child's interests, needs, and thoughts are taken into account by curious and engaged educators. Imagination, curiosity, and play form the foundation of the teaching and contribute to our collective learning, exploration, and challenges in meetings with each other, the environment, and materials.

Pilotens' prioritized development area is health and well-being, an area that permeates our daily operations. The educators consciously work to connect movement and language in a way that benefits children's learning and development. We allow children to learn with their whole bodies - a playful, active, and engaging way to develop both motor and language skills. Play plays a central role both in everyday life and in project work and is seen as an obvious part of children's learning processes and social development.

This is how the children describe their preschool: "At our preschool, we learn things, we have groups and are outside, we are also in the park. We play but we don't fight. We want a teacher who is fun, calm, and tells the children when they are wrong."

The Preschool Administration is one of Malmö's largest administrations. We have about 4,560 employees who every day meet about 15,600 children and their guardians at one of our 190 preschools. Within the preschool in Malmö city, you receive ongoing professional development, clear career opportunities, and close leadership. Read more at malmo.se/förskolekarriär
