Project Coordinator for Trelleborg Fire Service
In Trelleborg, we work together for a growing successful community where it is good to live. Our 61 villages and 21 districts are creative meeting places that bubble with life. Here we want to do things, tell about them, and come just as we are. This means we welcome others in the same generous and curious way.
Welcome to take your place on the journey!
The Community Building Administration is facing an exciting transformation journey that will strengthen our ability to contribute to Trelleborg's growth and development. Starting January 1, 2026, we plan to introduce a new organization – a modern and sustainable structure that prepares us to meet future challenges and opportunities.
With a clear vision to be at the forefront, we create conditions for innovation, security, and long-term development. The new organization will consist of three departments: the fire service, the building and environment department, and the planning and geodata department. Each department will have two units and will be complemented by a common secretariat unit, which gives us the power to work effectively and coordinated.
Together, we shape an organization that not only follows development – we lead it. Our forward-looking spirit and commitment will make Trelleborg an even more attractive and sustainable place to live, work, and thrive.
Do you want to contribute to one of society's most important missions and strengthen the fire service's capacity for heightened preparedness and war?
Then this could be the role for you!
Workplace
The Trelleborg Fire Service works together with Vellinge and Skurup through a joint organization based at Trygghetens Hus in Trelleborg. Here you will find a modern work environment, good conditions for collaboration, and a clear focus on robustness, safety, and efficiency. We are part of the municipality's total defense work and continuously develop our ability to operate even under disturbed conditions.
We are now looking for a project coordinator who will play a key role in strengthening the fire service's preparedness and resilience for heightened readiness.
Job Responsibilities
As a project coordinator for RUHB, you will work comprehensively to develop the fire service's planning for heightened readiness. You will start from the current state and needs of the organization and translate these into practical and feasible plans. The work involves developing strategies, routines, and structures for how the fire service should operate under impact and crisis, particularly regarding personnel supply, mobilization, resilience, and location.
You will conduct current state and needs analyses, develop action plans, describe the organization's structure during heightened readiness, and work on continuity management plans within the fire service. You will collaborate with colleagues in the municipality, including the security unit, as well as with external actors such as the county administrative board, the armed forces, and the police.
You will also contribute to integrating the planning into exercises and training, so that strategic decisions have practical applications and create actual capacity within the organization.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a relevant university degree or equivalent knowledge that the employer considers equivalent. The academic level is necessary as the role involves advanced analysis, strategic work, and the ability to handle large amounts of information in a structured way.
You need to have experience in planning work within, for example, fire service, crisis preparedness, public sector, or other activities with requirements for structure, analysis, and coordination. This is important as the work involves responsibility for developing planning materials, strategies, and routines that can be used both internally and in collaboration with other authorities.
A good understanding of total defense and how a municipal organization functions is necessary as the role involves collaboration, coordination, and the development of planning that should work within both the municipality's and total defense's frameworks.
You also need to have very good analytical skills. The tasks are based on the ability to identify risks and vulnerabilities, assess needs, create structure, and formulate plans that are feasible in an operational context.
The role also requires good communication skills, both written and verbal. You will gather information from various sources, present planning materials, and anchor the work within the organization, so you must be able to express yourself clearly and adapt communication to the audience. To succeed in the role, you also need to be independent and proactive, as you will drive planning processes forward and ensure that the work maintains both quality and pace.
It is an advantage if you have experience in total defense, mobilization planning, logistics, or civil/military defense as these areas are closely related to the issues the role handles. Experience in continuity management is also valuable – even if it is specific to the fire service's internal work – as it contributes to creating robustness and the ability to operate under disturbed conditions. Command training or other relevant training in crisis preparedness and civil preparedness is also positive.
What We Offer
You will work in an organization that has a direct impact on people's safety and security. The position gives you the opportunity to influence and develop the fire service's preparedness work in depth and to be part of building structures that are important both locally and regionally. You will become part of an engaged team with high competence and a strong willingness to collaborate and make a difference.
Other Information
The position is a project employment from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2027, with the possibility of extension until December 31, 2028, depending on how the assignment develops. The position is located at Trelleborg's fire service in Trygghetens Hus, and there is also the possibility of remote work. You will be informed before the interview if the position requires a security clearance.
