Workplace Description

LU Service is a purchasing and sales organization, which means that the operation offers and delivers services to the various parts of the university based on their needs.

Here you will find everything from mail handling and cleaning services to printing, conference services, and technical maintenance - and LU Service also ensures that guest researchers and students have a roof over their heads.

Our office is centrally located in Lund with good transportation links. Here you will share your workday with a dedicated group of colleagues from various support functions and the management team - we sit together under the same roof, which contributes to a natural community and easy collaboration.

The atmosphere is open and welcoming - new ideas are appreciated here, and there is great freedom to influence and develop.

Changing Operations

LU Service is undergoing a transformation to better meet the clients' needs for services and solutions, with the goal of becoming a comprehensive FM organization. You will be an important part of this change, primarily by driving and explaining it to both customers and employees.

Job Responsibilities and Areas of Responsibility

Initially, you will be the sole person in your financial role with us, which means you will have full responsibility and freedom to set the framework for the financial work yourself. Currently, there is no financial function in place at LU Service, which makes this role both exciting and important. Here you will have the chance to think about what is truly needed and build up the financial work together with us. You will lay the foundation, create structure, and find smart ways to work, and in the future, you will also have the opportunity to gather your own team. Your contribution will be crucial for how we work with finances in the future - and you will be part of the entire journey!

Your Mission:

  • Be responsible for driving and developing the financial function at LU Service
  • Lead, support, and coordinate future financial administrators in their work
  • Be an active member of the section's management team and ensure that the financial perspective is included in the strategic decisions of the management team
  • Analyze both the whole and the details - from overarching financial flows to specific cost drivers
  • Ensure order, structure, and efficient financial processes such as accounting
  • Propose and implement smart solutions that make a difference for the operation
  • Anticipate financial risks/effects/consequences in the operation
  • Participate in the administration's overall financial network

We are looking for

We are looking for a person with an academic background in finance, preferably specializing in business administration. The role requires an analytical and solution-oriented ability as well as a genuine interest in financial processes and development work.

Thanks to your previous experience and engagement, you have the opportunity to influence and adapt the role based on the needs of the operation. You work effectively in teams and contribute to a good working environment through your open approach.

Qualifications

Requirements for the position are:

  • Higher education in finance or in another area that the employer assesses as equivalent and suitable for the position
  • Experience working with financial flows, accounting, follow-up, and analysis.
  • Experience in strategic work
  • You can speak, read, and write fluently in both Swedish and English

Desirable for the position are:

  • Strong analytical ability and the ability to see both details and the whole
  • Ability to structure, create order, and think innovatively and efficiently
  • Good leadership skills and the ability to drive teams towards common goals
  • Ability to understand and develop the operation from a financial perspective
  • Good communication skills and confidence in collaborating with different parts of the university
  • Experience working in B2B
  • Experience working in Facility Management
  • Very good knowledge of the Office suite and experience working effectively with Excel
  • Experience working in relevant financial systems such as Raindance, EOS, Kuben, or similar tools
  • Courage, initiative, and a lack of pretentiousness
