Benefits Officer at Kommunal's Unemployment Insurance Fund

Are you a responsible person with a strong drive to provide our members with compensation of the right quality? Then you might be the one we are looking for! Kommunal's unemployment insurance fund is currently seeking more benefits officers to strengthen our production offices.

We are an organization present in eight locations across Sweden, with our head office in Stockholm. Other locations include Gothenburg, Härnösand, Kalmar, Karlstad, Luleå, Lund, and Visby.

Kommunal's unemployment insurance fund is one of Sweden's largest unemployment insurance funds, and our main task is to pay compensation to our unemployed members. We are not an authority, but we perform governmental functions when we handle and decide on matters regarding compensation and membership.

About the Role

You will investigate and make decisions regarding the payment of unemployment benefits based on applicable legislation. We are on an exciting journey of change in our working methods and are facing new legislation that will come into effect on October 1, 2025. You will be part of a team working together to achieve set production and operational goals. You will also provide service to our members via phone, visits, email, and other channels.

Our focus is on efficient and legally secure processing with a good working environment. We are increasingly automating ongoing processing, which means we can spend more time on the more complicated parts of a case.

The position is a permanent employment with a 6-month probationary period, starting no later than April 1. The position is located at the unemployment insurance fund's office in Gothenburg.

Who Are You?

You will have many contacts with colleagues within the unemployment insurance fund as well as with members and authorities, and therefore you must be a communicative person with good collaboration skills. At Kommunal's unemployment insurance fund, we always focus on the member, and you are expected to be professional, credible, empathetic, and engaged. You have a pedagogical ability to meet and explain to our members how the unemployment insurance works. You have the ability to work at a fast pace in a structured manner and take great responsibility for your work while being able to separate your professional role from your personal life.

You will have varied tasks and need to be flexible and able to prioritize among tasks during your workday. You need to be open to the fact that working methods may change and develop due to the digitalization occurring throughout society. Therefore, it is important that you can embrace new technology, new working methods, and new information. We encourage you to contribute ideas and think outside the box.

We Are Looking For Someone Who Has:

• Post-secondary education, preferably with a focus on law, economics, social sciences, or other education that we consider equivalent.
• Ability to interpret and apply regulations.
• Good computer skills.
• Ability to communicate fluently in Swedish, both orally and in writing. We work with clear language, which means we convert complex legal concepts into clear, understandable, and correct texts for our members.

Meritorious:

• If you have work experience in administrative operations, preferably with experience from unemployment insurance funds or from authorities that we consider relevant.
• If you have knowledge of the Unemployment Insurance Act and the Unemployment Insurance Funds Act.

We are looking for several benefits officers, starting as agreed, no later than April 1. The positions are permanent, with a requirement of a 6-month probationary period.
