Your responsibilities

In the primary schools of Linköping Municipality, a special function has been established to support the principal and coordinate efforts within student health services. The Coordinator for Special Pedagogical Support has, among other things, the following assignments:

• Provide special pedagogical competence as support in pedagogical work and in the overall planning of student health activities
• Identify obstacles and opportunities in the school environment for students in need of special support
• Provide support in the work with pedagogical investigations and action plans
• Provide guidance and consultation to pedagogical staff
• Monitor, evaluate, and support the development of the organization's learning environments
• Act as the coordinating party in communication between the school and external parties such as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP), Psychiatry Partners, and others

The role of coordinator involves leading the student health work and the student health team at the school to coordinate resources and interventions for students in need of special support. In this role, you will be a conversation partner and advisor to colleagues, the principal, guardians, and other relevant parties regarding both support services and pedagogical issues. The position involves a significant amount of documentation, where you are responsible for structuring the work with pedagogical investigations, assessments, and the creation of action plans. You will collaborate closely with the school leadership and be a driving force in the school's strategic development.

Since this is a large school, you will be the hub in a dynamic daily routine. The role requires you to have a strong helicopter perspective to be able to overview and structure the organization's needs. You have a genuine commitment to developing student health team (EHT) work and are passionate about school development in general. You enjoy the broad collaboration that takes place between the EHT, teachers, and other staff.

The role also involves involvement in the school's special education group, with a specific focus on processes regarding intake and handover.

You will be employed as either a special educator or a special teacher, and through the coordinator role, you will receive a salary supplement.

Your workplace

Folkungaskolan is a combined comprehensive and upper secondary school with approximately 1,500 students and 170 teachers. The school is located in central Linköping, within walking distance from the city center. The mix of students from both comprehensive and upper secondary levels makes Folkungaskolan unique, not just in Linköping, but throughout the country.

Folkungaskolan's grades 7-9 consist of seven parallel classes with a total of approximately 640 students, where all students have a profile or specialization. The school has three different profiles: Dance profile, Choir profile, and Art and Design profile. The school also has three different specializations: Future-oriented specialization, Music Production specialization, and Home Economics and Consumer Knowledge specialization.

You who apply

We are looking for you who have a degree in special education or a special teacher degree, as well as a teaching license for instruction in primary school.

You have a developed ability to collaborate and participate actively in all types of meeting constellations you are part of. You have a professional approach in meetings with students, colleagues, and guardians, and your good insight into people's different prerequisites enables you to skillfully adapt your way of conveying messages depending on the situation and the person you meet. We are looking for someone who can communicate clearly and well-formulated, ensuring that messages get through and that expectations are communicated and followed up with relevant parties in the collaboration. In your coordinating role, you lead, motivate, and ensure that everyone involved in the student health team has the prerequisites to effectively reach common goals. You are comfortable making quick decisions and acting on them when necessary. The work demands your ability to work both independently and together with others, as well as your ability to plan and drive your own and the student health team's joint work in an effective manner.
