Your Responsibilities

We are looking for childcare workers and leisure-time center teachers for temporary substitute positions. Here, you will become part of a creative and dynamic environment where we together create the best conditions for learning. As a substitute, you step in when permanent staff are absent. You work as a resource in classrooms or at the leisure-time center, supporting either an entire group or individual students based on the day's needs.

As a substitute, you become a valuable asset to our team and work to provide students with a safe and structured school day. With clear leadership, you contribute to a peaceful study environment and support students in their work based on existing plans. Since the school and leisure-time center collaborate closely, you often follow students throughout the day in close cooperation with the colleagues on site. You adapt your interaction to the group you meet and use digital tools as a natural part of daily life.

As a substitute, you are a team player who thrives on collaboration and learning from others. You are receptive to your colleagues' experiences and frequently check in during the day to provide students with the best possible support. By communicating and reflecting together with your team, you contribute to a smooth daily routine and a positive atmosphere in the work group.

Your Workplace

Welcome to us at Slestadsskolan! We are a preschool to grade 6 school with approximately 320 students and 60 employees, located in the Lambohov district of Linköping. There is also a municipal resource school focusing on autism for grades 1-6 with its own leisure-time center. The school has 4 leisure-time centers. The school is situated next to beautiful surroundings with a large schoolyard and access to the Lambohov district playground. We actively work with students' safety and well-being at school and in the leisure-time center. Clear leadership, collaboration, and a positive view of students are our key words.

You Who Apply

To work as a substitute with us, you must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma. We primarily seek you with relevant education as a childcare worker or a leisure-time center teacher, or you who are currently studying to become a childcare worker or a leisure-time center teacher. It is an advantage if you have worked in preschool, school, and/or leisure-time centers, or have experience in other work with children/young people.

Furthermore, it is a requirement that you have good communicative skills in spoken and written Swedish. This is because, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), you must organize and carry out work so that the child receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that every child can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

Collaboration Skills: Since you step in where needed, your collaboration skills are crucial. You adapt easily. You listen to the instructions of permanent staff and contribute without ego to ensure the teamwork in the work group runs smoothly. You communicate and resolve conflicts constructively.

Relationship Building: You are outgoing and socially active in professional contexts. You have a strong ability to build relationships and are skilled at quickly building trust. You make children feel seen and secure, and you meet both colleagues and guardians in an open and welcoming manner.

Quality Conscious: You are quality conscious and take your assignment seriously. This means you are careful to follow the leisure-time center's routines, safety regulations, and pedagogical guidelines so that the operations always maintain a high and safe level.

Pedagogical Insight: You have good pedagogical insight and understand how children learn and develop through play and creativity. You can adapt your way of communicating according to children's different ages and needs, and you help them resolve conflicts constructively.
