Do you want to make a difference for the young people who need it the most? On the introduction programs, you will have the opportunity to create pedagogy that is based on the individual in an environment where every step forward is a victory. Welcome to us on the introduction programs!
Your responsibilities
This position involves teaching on the introduction programs (IM) for students who are not eligible for upper secondary school. Here, students study vocational introduction, language introduction, or individual alternatives. All students study basic school subjects, and the programs are adapted to each student's prerequisites and needs. On our IM, you will have the opportunity to identify and motivate students who need extra support to succeed in their schooling. The work on the introduction programs is based on close collaboration between teachers and other school staff.
Some of our students have intellectual disabilities (ID), and we are now looking for you who want to contribute your competence in this area, where you have the opportunity to help develop our working methods. Here you can use your creativity to find new pedagogical paths when traditional methods are not enough. We are looking for you who want to be challenged in your pedagogical leadership and who understand that the teacher's most important tool is the relationship and responsiveness.
The starting point for you as a teacher is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and values-based work based on the curriculum. The work is carried out both independently and in collaboration with colleagues.
Here you will meet a staff group driven by seeing the students grow, whether it concerns subject knowledge or increased self-confidence.
Your workplace
Anders Ljungstedt Upper Secondary School (ALG) is a large school with over 1,100 students and 220 employees. Organizationally, the school consists of five principal areas with close cooperation in matters that create synergies in the operations. It is easy to get to the school, which is only a short walk from Linköping's travel center, and there are plenty of parking spaces. Getting here by city bus, bicycle, car, or commuting from Norrköping/Finspång also works well.
The school offers eight national vocational programs, some of which are industry-certified, four introduction programs, five programs within adapted upper secondary school, municipal adult education in several professions and as adapted education, as well as university college education.
You who apply
Primarily, we are looking for you who have a teaching license with eligibility to teach Swedish, English, or Swedish as a second language in grades 7-9. Secondly, we are looking for you with a completed teacher education for grades 7-9. Alternatively, you are at the end of your teacher education for grades 7-9. It is meritorious if you have special education teacher education with a focus on intellectual disabilities.
It is a requirement that you have experience of working in a curriculum-based school through practice or as an employee. It is meritorious if you have taught in grades 7-9 or upper secondary school for at least one academic year. It is also meritorious if you have experience of teaching students in need of special support, in adapted school, or other experience of teaching students with intellectual disabilities (ID).
In your role as a teacher in grades 7-9, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other regulatory documents. You have good communicative skills in speech and writing in the Swedish language. This is because, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), you should organize and carry out the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.
As a teacher, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and let them participate in the design of the teaching. In a quality-conscious way, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document this. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in society that occur in your professional role.
