The Education Administration is one of Mjölby Municipality's six administrations and is responsible for preschool, primary school, upper secondary school, special needs primary and upper secondary school, and adult education. With approximately 1,000 employees, we offer education that promotes lifelong learning for all children and students, working towards the direction of "high knowledge results in a school where everyone can and wants to be." We place great emphasis on working closely with operations through regular dialogue and support for school leaders and teachers based on the chain of command.

The special needs primary school with a focus on subject areas belongs to Egebyskolan but is currently located in pavilions at Blåklintskolan (preschool class and grades 1-3) and in premises at Lagmanskolan (grades 6-9) due to renovations at Egebyskolan. The unit also includes an after-school center. We work together and closely with the students to create accessible and safe learning environments. We care about creating good relationships with each other and with our students. In our development work, we focus on accessible learning environments and broadening our teaching to meet the different prerequisites and needs of all students. The current position is based at the pavilions at Blåklintskolan.

Job Responsibilities

In your role as a teacher, you will work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and values-based work based on the curriculum. You collaborate with the school's various professions to support student learning. You are part of a work team where you systematically work together to develop the school. Based on the set goals, you will strive to ensure that students achieve the best possible development, both academically and socially, and actively influence and stimulate students to achieve these goals.

As a teacher in special needs primary school, you will work with students who have intellectual disabilities (ID), possibly with additional disabilities. You will plan and conduct teaching adapted to each student's prerequisites and support students in their learning and development.

Working in special needs primary school is not just about teaching. You will also be an important adult for the students and support them in their social and emotional development. You will also work closely with the student's guardians to ensure a holistic view of the student's development. You are part of a work team where you systematically work together to develop the school. Based on the set goals, you will strive to ensure that students achieve the best possible development, both academically and socially, and actively influence and stimulate students to achieve these goals.

Qualifications

You should be subject-matter competent, mentor students, plan and lead teaching, and assess knowledge development. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching. You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection in both planned and spontaneous situations. To benefit student learning, as well as your own and the operation's development, you take advantage of the experiences and knowledge of different professions.

We are looking for you who have:

• A Bachelor of Education in Preschool Class and Grades 1-3,
• Teaching license.

It is meritorious if you have:

• A degree or are studying to become a special needs teacher with a focus on intellectual disabilities.
