Your responsibilities

This position is a temporary assignment during the recruitment period. The role involves teaching mathematics and serving as a mentor on the Natural Science Programme, as well as teaching mathematics and physics on the Introductory Programme for students who are not eligible for upper secondary school.

As a teacher, your starting point is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and values-based work based on the national curriculum. The work is carried out both independently and in collaboration with colleagues. In this role, you will collaborate, among other things, in the mathematics-physics subject group with approximately 20 subject colleagues.

As a teacher, you collaborate with guardians, colleagues, and other professionals within the school to create the best conditions for every student. You base your work on the student group you encounter and are expected to create varied and challenging teaching. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching.

You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection at both planned and spontaneous occasions. To benefit the students' learning, as well as your own and the organization's development, you utilize the experiences and knowledge of various professions.

Your workplace

Berzeliusskolan is a centrally located school in Linköping with modern facilities. It includes the upper grades of compulsory school, upper secondary school, and adapted upper secondary school. The upper secondary school includes the Natural Science and Technology programmes, as well as the Introductory Programme with a focus on language introduction and individual alternatives. There are approximately 1,900 students in total, of whom more than 1,000 are in upper secondary school, and approximately 330 employees.

You who apply

We are primarily looking for you who have a teaching license with eligibility to teach mathematics in upper secondary school. It is meritorious if you also have eligibility to teach mathematics and physics in grades 7–9. In the second round, we look for you with a completed teacher education for upper secondary school. Alternatively, you are at the end of your education to become a teacher in upper secondary school.

It is a requirement that you have experience of working in a curriculum-based school, through practice or as an employee. It is meritorious if you have taught in upper secondary school for at least one academic year.

In your role as an upper secondary teacher, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well familiar with the curriculum (Gy11/Gy25) and other regulatory documents. You have good communicative skills in spoken and written Swedish. This is necessary so that, according to the curriculum, you organize and carry out the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that every student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

As a teacher, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and involve them in the design of the teaching. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document this. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in society that occur in your professional role.
