About the job

The assignment for this position is to create and evaluate a prototype of a torque and speed sensor to be used in experiments on electric machines within the basic education curriculum. A developed basic idea and a design sketch form the basis of the work. If the prototype functions well, the work also includes ordering and commissioning equipment for additional machines in the lab.

About you

We are looking for you who have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. You have experience with torque and speed measurement, both regarding the selection of components and the design of the mechanical construction where the sensor elements are mounted.

As a person, you are driven, self-motivated, and goal-oriented. In addition to knowledge in mechanics and strength of materials, you also have basic knowledge in programming and electronics to present measurement results on a display when needed.

Your workplace

You will work at the Division of Computer Vision and Learning Systems (CVL) at ISY, which has a dynamic research environment with a total of approximately 40 employees. CVL conducts research and education at undergraduate, advanced, and doctoral levels in machine learning for computer vision.

About the employment

The employment is a hourly-paid special fixed-term appointment (SÄVA) starting on 2026-08-10. The work is performed as needed during the autumn term of 2026, and work shifts are planned in dialogue between the employer and the employee. The extent may vary depending on the needs of the operation.

A security clearance may be conducted before a decision on employment is made.
