De Geergymnasiet is located centrally in Norrköping and is a secondary school with approximately 800 students and 130 employees. Here we offer the Arts Programme, Social Science Programme, Humanities Programme, Hospitality and Tourism Programme, as well as Adapted Upper Secondary School.

Your responsibilities

With us, you have a central role in supporting students in their study and career choices and contributing to making study and career counseling a natural part of the school's education and development work.

As a study and career counselor with us, you work to give students the prerequisites to make well-founded decisions about studies, professional life, and future career paths. You meet students both individually and in groups and actively contribute to strengthening their self-knowledge, motivation, and understanding of the opportunities available after upper secondary school.

The assignment includes guidance conversations, information about educational paths, eligibility rules, and the labor market, as well as planning and implementation of activities that support students' future choices. You document guidance efforts in student administrative systems.

The position also includes responsibility for the school's study and career counseling plan and driving the development of study and career counseling together with school leadership and pedagogical staff. You work closely with teachers to integrate study and career perspectives into teaching and contribute to making counseling the responsibility of the entire school.

Part of the assignment is also to represent the school at information meetings and to build and maintain good contacts with primary schools, colleges, universities, employers, and other external cooperation partners. Documentation and administration take place continuously in the school's digital systems.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have a degree from the study and career counseling program. You have experience working in upper secondary school and feel confident in your professional role.

You have good knowledge of the Swedish education system, different paths to further studies, and the conditions of the labor market.

You are also accustomed to working structured with documentation in digital systems and have a good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

To thrive and succeed in the role, you need to be a person who creates trusting relationships and who meets students, guardians, and colleagues with engagement and sensitivity.

You have the ability to communicate clearly and proactively, while also being a good listener who values different perspectives.

You work independently, take initiative, and see opportunities to develop the operation.
