Your responsibilities

As a teacher for grades 4-6 with us, you have a clear assignment: to drive students towards increased goal achievement through high-quality teaching.

This position is aimed at grade 4. You will be part of a team of four teachers who share responsibility for the two classes in the grade. The work is based on a double-teacher model where you plan and conduct teaching together based on the needs of the operation. The assignment also includes shared mentorship for the students in the grade, meaning you are jointly responsible for student social issues and contact with guardians.

Your main responsibilities:

• Plan, conduct, and evaluate teaching in Swedish, Swedish as a Second Language, and Social Studies based on the curriculum Lgr22. Depending on your qualifications, teaching in English may also be included.
• Exercise shared mentorship for the students in the grade together with the colleagues in the team.
• Collaborate in a close double-teacher relationship and contribute to collegial learning.
• Create varied and challenging teaching where digital tools are a natural part.
• Collaborate with colleagues, guardians, and the school's other operations, such as after-school care and the student health team.

Your workplace

Nygårdsskolan is a K-6 school with approximately 300 students today, most of whom have a multicultural background. The school has newly renovated, fresh premises and is located in the district area of Skäggetorp. The school has a pleasant schoolyard of approximately 14,000 square meters. New playground equipment is available to promote play, creativity, movement, and socializing.

The school offers after-school care for students in grades K-3 and open after-school activities for students in grades 4-6. We have a staffed school library with a well-developed book collection, a well-functioning student health team, a popular after-school care, and developed environmental work at the school. At Nygårdsskolan, cooperative learning is used in teaching 1-2 days a week, which benefits the students' development.

You who apply

Primarily, we are looking for you who have a teaching license with qualifications to teach in grades 4-6 in Swedish, Swedish as a Second Language, and Social Studies. Secondly, we are looking for you with a completed teacher education for grades 4-6. Alternatively, you are at the end of your education to become a teacher in grades 4-6. It is meritorious if you have qualifications to teach English in grades 4-6.

It is a requirement that you have experience of working in a curriculum-based school through practice or as an employee. It is meritorious if you have taught in grades 4-6 for at least one school year. It is also meritorious if you have experience of setting grades or alternatively documenting students' learning during the school year.

As a person, you are secure, calm, and stable. You are a skilled leader in the classroom who maintains calm even when conditions change, which requires flexibility. You have a positive view of students and the ability to build good relationships with our students. Since the role involves close collaboration regarding both teaching and mentorship, you have good collaboration skills.

In your role as a teacher in grades 4-6, you have good knowledge of the school's assignment and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other steering documents. You have good communicative skills in speech and writing in the Swedish language. This is because, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), you should organize and carry out the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

As a teacher in grades 4-6, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and let them be involved in the design of the teaching. In a quality-conscious way, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document it. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in society that occur in your professional role.
