Are you looking for a varied role where you can make a difference for students in a nature-rich environment? Ulrika School is now seeking a dedicated childcare worker (barnskötare) for a combined position where 60% of the working hours are allocated to our after-school center (fritidshem) and 40% to the school's reception kitchen. At our small school, you will work closely with both students and colleagues to create safety and learning environments where everyone can grow. Welcome to us!
Your Responsibilities
In the after-school center, your task, according to the curriculum, is to stimulate students' development and learning, as well as offer them a meaningful leisure time. Together with the work team, you plan, implement, and document the pedagogical work in the after-school center. The work in the after-school center will account for approximately 60% of the total time you work in this position at Ulrika School. You will also work in the classroom part of the day.
This position also includes work in the reception kitchen. Work in the reception kitchen will take up approximately 40% of your position. This part of the work involves receiving pre-cooked meals, preparing them for serving, handling dishwashing, and creating a pleasant environment for students around school lunch.
As a childcare worker, you have knowledge of the after-school center's curriculum and other current regulatory documents. You follow the norms and values stated in the curriculum and contribute to implementing the organization's mission. The activity should be based on the students' needs, interests, and experiences, but also ensure that students are continuously challenged further by being inspired to new discoveries. In teaching, students should be offered a variety of working methods, forms of expression, and learning environments that integrate care and learning. In your role as a childcare worker, you are expected to be able to work with both student groups and individual students. Your duties also include holding ongoing conversations with students' guardians about their well-being, development, and learning.
The after-school center at Ulrika School is open between 06:00 and 18:00 on weekdays. The position is full-time (100%) and working hours are scheduled within this time frame, Monday to Friday. Since Ulrika School is a small school, we help each other with most tasks; here you may have the opportunity to learn several different tasks at the school, it is a role to grow into. The work team you will be part of at Ulrika School collaborates with colleagues at the after-school center at Nykil School.
Your Workplace
The school is located in the Ulrika community and operates from preschool class to grade 3. Ulrika School is situated in an environment with fantastic nature nearby. Since we are a small school with approximately 30 students, close relationships and close collaboration are created between students, colleagues, and guardians. The schoolyard is spacious and invites both play and outdoor pedagogy. The school premises are technically equipped, and our students have good access to digital tools. At our school, we actively work for safety, study peace, and that all students succeed. We want our students to develop into secure and independent people who believe in themselves and see opportunities.

Who You Are
It is a requirement that you, as an applicant, have education as a childcare worker from adult education or have completed the Child and Youth Program at high school.
