Many of us meet patients and relatives, while others create the conditions for vital interventions. Here, fantastic people work towards the same goal – to make a real difference, and forward for life.

Please read about your benefits with us.
Job Description
As a counselor at the Gender Identity Clinic (KIM), you are part of the investigation and support for both the young person and their parents. You work, among other things, with exploratory conversations, interviews, parent meetings, and provide support in the social investigation part. This may include informing the patient and discussing alternative ways of viewing their identity and identity development, reflecting on alternatives for the future, and motivations for change in the patient's process. We follow the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare's national knowledge support for children and young people with gender dysphoria and collaborate with other NHS units both within the region and across the country.
As an employee here, you are given the opportunity to further educate yourself in areas relevant to the work and participate in national conferences and training. We view supervision and profession-specific meetings as important.
Since we strive for a cohesive care process across the entire clinic, this position is divided between half-time in our specialized KIM team and half-time at our clinic with the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP) basic mandate.
Work Group
You will work closely with your team colleagues both in the KIM team and at the BUP clinic. We have close cooperation with both KIM Adults in Linköping and corresponding KIM units in Region Skåne.
About You
We are looking for you who are educated as a social worker, preferably a licensed health and social care counselor, with a few years of experience in the profession. Since you will communicate with patients, relatives, and colleagues, it is important that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing. Basic psychotherapy is a requirement for this position.
As the work requires good knowledge regarding psychiatric diagnoses, we would appreciate it if you had experience in psychiatry and have worked with treatment. It is meritorious if you have worked with issues related to sexual health and LGBTQ+.
We are looking for you who have a basic psychotherapy education (Step 1), engagement, and drive to work independently but also as a large part together in an interdisciplinary team. We want you to have an interest in working with improvement and development of the team and care process with the patient's best interest in focus. Important skills are sensitivity, good collaboration skills, and confidence in the professional role. You thrive with varied tasks and of course work in accordance with science and proven experience according to established guidelines.
We place great value on the social work environment and want you to also think it is important to contribute and have a pleasant time together at work. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
Application and Employment
The position is subject to register control.
In connection with employment in a patient-oriented role within Region Östergötland, you will be asked to fill out a health declaration.
