The position is located within the Social Services Department, which is one of eight departments in Linköping Municipality. The Social Services Department is responsible for regulatory authority, ordering of measures, and own management within the areas of individual and family care, LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), and social psychiatry. We ensure that all residents receive the support they are entitled to.

Do you want to improve the daily life, future, and quality of life for the people of Linköping? With us, you can combine important assignments with a meaningful everyday life. Welcome to us!

Your responsibilities

As a caregiver, you play a crucial role in creating a safe, meaningful, and developmental daily life for children and young people with disabilities. Your work is individualized, where you combine pedagogy, nursing, and practical daily support, always with a focus on strengthening independence and participation. An important part is providing cognitive support and working with pedagogical methods, including low-affective handling, to create structure and predictability. Since the children and young people have different prerequisites for communication, we use alternative communication methods. You support the children/young people in daily tasks (ADL training) with the aim of strengthening their own ability to be independent.

You are assigned a contact person role and work based on the IBIC model (Individual's Needs at the Center). This includes planning, implementing, and following up on stays together with the child/young person and their representative. You are responsible for creating implementation plans and for ongoing documentation in systems such as Treserva. A professional and reflective working method is fundamental, and you have continuous and close contact with guardians, relatives, and other partners involved with the child/young person.

Your workplace

The support measure short-term stay according to LSS means that children and young people with disabilities are offered a change of environment and meaningful activities to promote personal development and recreation through new experiences and community.

Lantmannagatan 153 in Lambohov is a short-term residence aimed at children and young people with neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPD) and often in combination with intellectual disability (ID). The target group has varying support needs regarding communication, nursing, and ADL, and activities are adapted individually based on a pedagogical working method. The work revolves around offering an individualized approach with a focus on low-affective handling in combination with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), with the aim of making the children's/young people's existence understandable, manageable, and meaningful.

Working hours are scheduled on weekdays and every other weekend with varied shifts including mornings, evenings, and sleeping on-call.

The operations plan together with other units, which means that working at more workplaces may become relevant. For this position, a degree of employment of at least 85% applies, but due to the right to full-time employment applied in Linköping Municipality, you have the opportunity to choose a higher degree of employment up to full-time.

You who apply

We primarily look for you to have a completed education from the Care and Nursing Program or the Child and Leisure Program. If you have a completed upper secondary education combined with relevant work experience, you are also welcome to apply for the position. To succeed in the role, it is a requirement that you have experience working in support, care, and nursing, and that you master the Swedish language in both speech and writing due to the extensive responsibility for contacts and documentation. Furthermore, good computer skills and the ability to use digital systems for documentation and record keeping are required.

It is meritorious to have experience in providing support and nursing to children/young people/adults with intellectual, physical, or mental disabilities, as well as knowledge of NPD diagnoses. Furthermore, experience in working based on Individual's Needs at the Center (IBIC), creating implementation plans, and handling record keeping and documentation in journal systems is a plus. We place great importance on your ability to interact and communicate, which is why knowledge of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), such as picture support and sign support, is meritorious. It is also a big plus if you have experience working based on a low-affective approach. Finally, a B driver's license is a merit.

You are self-reliant, take responsibility for your tasks, and drive your work forward. You collaborate well with users, relatives, and colleagues, and are sensitive to the individual's needs. You communicate clearly and have the ability to adapt to the person you meet. It is also important that you have an empathetic ability and can put yourself in others' perspectives and situations.

Welcome to an exciting work environment where your commitment will be appreciated and where you have the opportunity to make a real difference for other people!
