I am a 44-year-old man with a high spinal cord injury. This means I am paralyzed from the neck down and require ventilator support for breathing. I am tracheostomized and receive my medication and fluids via a PEG tube. I communicate through head nods/shakes, as well as sign language or using a speech-generating device (Leakspeech). I also have an eye-tracking computer with text-to-speech functionality, and a fiancée who can interpret.

I am looking for a wonderful team of assistants who can help me with my daily tasks, hygiene, and exercise. I have double assistance available 24/7.

I live together with my fiancée and our two dogs, so you must not have pet allergies or a fear of dogs.

I am looking for someone with a big heart, education in care and support, who is stress-resistant and, most importantly, has a sense of humor. Laughter is good for the health! You should have some confidence and be willing to take initiative.

Working as a personal assistant for me involves significant responsibility – both medically, physically, and socially. For us both to feel secure, a certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) will be required before employment.

A prerequisite for starting an employment with us at SAAND Assistans is that you, as the applicant, can present a valid ID document and any documents proving your right to work in Sweden. To work as a personal assistant, you must be at least 18 years old.

In accordance with legislation, we as employers are required to request a background check from all employees who are to work as personal assistants for a child under 18. To ensure the safety of our clients at SAAND Assistans, we obtain extracts from the criminal record for all individuals we hire. Therefore, you will need to provide a certificate of good conduct from the police prior to any potential employment.
