About the position

We are currently looking for four personal assistants for our client outside of Skärblacka. We offer two full-time positions as well as two part-time positions for when needed.

The client's relatives wish for female assistants only.

Working hours vary between weekdays and weekends:

• Every other week: 06:00–16:00

• Every other week: 07:00–16:00

• Evening shifts: 15:30–22:00

• Double staffing twice a week: 14:00–22:00

Start date is by agreement, and we would prefer if you could start training immediately.

About the client

The client is an active 13-year-old girl who enjoys swimming, going to the cinema, horse riding, watching theater, and finding fun outdoor activities. She needs your assistance due to Angelman syndrome and epilepsy. The client is non-verbal but communicates through sounds and her own gestures to express her needs and wishes. As an assistant, you will become an important part of her sense of security and support in both daily routines and leisure activities.

The duties include the following:

• Support with daily routines

• Practical support in everyday life at home, at school, and during leisure activities

• Assistance with personal hygiene, dressing/undressing, and meals

• Support with transfers/mobility

• Medication management

We believe you are a responsible, positive, and attentive person who thrives in working closely with people. You take initiative and have the ability to inspire, motivate, and create conditions for an active and meaningful everyday life.

It is important that you can stay one step ahead, de-escalate situations calmly, and motivate in situations where our client may exhibit challenging behavior. You need to be able to remain calm in certain situations and be patient, as some tasks may take time and you sometimes need to wait out the client. A motivating attitude is also crucial for getting the client out to activities, while you feel secure in providing both practical and pedagogical support. A driver's license and access to a car are required as the client lives far from public transport, making it difficult to get there without a car.

Requirements:

• Experience working as a personal assistant or within healthcare and social care.

• Driver's license with access to a personal car, as the client lives far from public transport and you need to drive the client to her activities.

• Swedish language skills (written and spoken)

• Not allergic to dogs (there is a dog in the home) and comfortable around horses, as the client rides and spends time in stable environments.

• Swimming proficiency and tolerance for chlorinated water.

Merits:

• Experience with Angelman syndrome.

• Experience with epilepsy.

Employment level: 2 full-time positions (100%). 2 part-time positions as needed.

Start date: Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis, and the position may be filled before the application deadline.

Salary: We apply individual salary setting. Other benefits in accordance with the collective agreement.

Things to consider before applying:

To work as a personal assistant with us, you must be at least 18 years old. This age requirement follows the rules regarding personal assistance, escort, and relief in the LSS Act and the Social Insurance Code. To work with children and young people under 18, you must present an extract from the criminal record register. From March 1, 2026, new regulations will apply, meaning the register check will include both extracts from the criminal record register and the suspicion register. These extracts are ordered via the Swedish Police Authority's e-service. Note that processing times may vary, so order well in advance.
