About the role

We strive to create a safe, fun and meaningful stay for the students both during school hours and in the residence. The aim is for the students to have the opportunity for a change of environment, social community and a meaningful leisure time based on individual needs and conditions.

You will work at an LSS residence for young people with combined intellectual disabilities. You work on a rolling schedule day/evening and weekends are included, on-call duty may occur. As the business looks right now, we have meal breaks which means that we eat with the students and do not have a break. During weekdays you work as a student assistant when the students are at school. In the evenings and on weekends you work in your role as a support teacher, where you support based on the young person's individual needs.

As a support teacher, you are part of the daily work together with the students. You provide support in various everyday moments, such as routines, activities, care and social interaction. You are an active part of the pedagogical work together with re-/habilitation assistants and contribute with structure, individualized interventions and a professional approach based on the students' needs and conditions.

In the role you have a special responsibility to develop and ensure the quality of the pedagogical work in the business. You work in a team but also have a major role in mentoring and supporting colleagues in methods and working methods. In your work you receive support and guidance from the unit manager and special educator, which provides good conditions for both professional development and security in the assignment.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have a university college education as a support teacher. Meritorious if you have experience of working with people with intellectual or neuropsychiatric disabilities.

As a person, you find it easy to create trusting relationships and collaborate in a clear, respectful and pedagogical way with both the students living at the unit and colleagues. You work in a structured and quality-conscious manner, with the ability to plan, organize and follow up on your work. At the same time, you take your own initiatives, see development opportunities and actively contribute to developing working methods and the quality of the business. You thrive in a role where cooperation, responsibility and a genuine commitment to the student's development and well-being are a natural part of everyday life.

Employment

We offer a permanent employment with a monthly salary according to agreement and based on individual salary setting. We apply a 6-month probation period and the start date is by agreement. Your working hours will include day, evening and weekend.

A prerequisite for employment is that you can show an extract from the criminal record register as well as the suspicion register and that you have a driver's license for a manual car.

As part of our recruitment process, we use problem-solving ability and personality tests.

Before employment, we will check citizenship. You will need to show a passport, national ID card or personal certificate. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, EU, EEA or Switzerland, you must also prove a valid work permit or that you are exempt from the obligation to have a work permit according to the Aliens Ordinance Chapter 6 Section 13a.

During the summer period, the response time may be somewhat longer. We start the selection process in week 32.
