Are you our new colleague who wants to work at the small school with the big heart in the middle of the city?

We are looking for an engaged leisure-time centre teacher who, together with us, wants to create a safe, creative, and educational environment where every student is seen every day!

Your responsibilities

As a leisure-time centre teacher, your starting point is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and values-based work based on the curriculum. The work is carried out both independently and in collaboration with colleagues.

As a leisure-time centre teacher, you see the student's entire school day as important. During the mornings, you collaborate and support preschool class and year 1, and then take over to drive teaching in the leisure-time centre in the afternoon.

The role includes:

  • Creating challenging, varied, and meaningful teaching in the leisure-time centre based on the student group you meet.
  • Teaching and leading activities.
  • Being proactive in collegial collaboration and developing quality work in the leisure-time centre together with your colleagues.
  • You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection at both planned and spontaneous occasions.
  • To benefit the students' learning, as well as your own and the operation's development, you take advantage of the experiences and knowledge of different professions.
  • Collaborate closely with both colleagues and guardians to contribute to the students' safety, language development, and high goal achievement.
  • Use digital tools as a natural part of your pedagogical teaching.

Your workplace

Tannefors School is the small school in the middle of the city, located near Snuggan Park and the green areas of the Stångån river. With approximately 165 students and one class in each grade (F–6), we have an atmosphere where closeness and relationships are central. Here, you become part of a staff of 23 engaged colleagues. We are proud of our safe environment where, through cross-grade activities, we strive to ensure every child is seen.

Tannefors School is to be a school where children feel safe, included, and eager to learn, a place where students take responsibility and develop good knowledge. We get there together through a varied working method where we alternate work in larger projects with work in the classroom, and practical learning with theoretical. With high competence and great engagement, we develop our working methods so that every student gets the best conditions to take with them into the future. As a new employee with us, you get a mentor who supports you into the role, but at our school, the doors are always open and you can turn to anyone for support and inspiration.

You will be part of the leisure-time centre's work team. Our leisure-time centre is led by a lead teacher in leisure-time centres and a work team leader and consists of two departments where we work in an age-integrated manner.

You who apply

We are primarily looking for you who have a teaching license with eligibility for leisure-time centres. In the second hand, we look for you with a degree certificate or completed education as a leisure-time centre teacher. Alternatively, you are at the end of your education as a leisure-time centre teacher. It is meritorious if you have eligibility to teach in more subjects for grades F-6, based on the operation's needs.

It is a requirement that you have experience as a teacher in a curriculum-regulated leisure-time centre, through practice or as an employee. It is meritorious if you have worked as a leisure-time centre teacher for at least one school year. Meritorious if you have experience working with students in need of special support, for example NPF, and have previously worked in preschool class. Also, other experience of pedagogical assignments within primary school F-6 is seen as meritorious.

In your role as a leisure-time centre teacher, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other regulatory documents. You have good communicative skills in speech and writing in the Swedish language. This is because, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), you should organize and carry out the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that every student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

As a leisure-time centre teacher, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and let them participate in the design of the teaching. In a quality-conscious way, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document it. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in society that occur in your professional role.
