The Upper Secondary School Area

The upper secondary school area has a varied operation targeting young people. Our units are characterized by good quality, closeness, and that we actively work to create safe and enriching meetings between the people in the operations. Our goal is for our students and participants to leave education equipped with the opportunity to choose their future and look back proudly on their study time.

At the adapted upper secondary school at Platengymnasiet, we welcome students with intellectual disabilities who study for four years. We offer four programs: hotel, restaurant, and bakery; health, care, and social work; property and construction, as well as the individual program. At the adapted upper secondary school, we work in teams around smaller groups of students.

Job Responsibilities

You follow students with intellectual disabilities during a regular school day and support them in schoolwork, social relationships, and daily routines. The position is based on the national programs (corresponding subjects in adapted primary school).

Qualifications

• Experience with ID (Intellectual Disability): Previous experience with intellectual disabilities, for example within adapted school forms or LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) operations.
• Knowledge of AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication): Good knowledge of alternative and augmentative communication, e.g., sign language as support, time aids, and picture support.
• Upper Secondary Education: Education from the Child and Youth Care program or Health and Care program, or alternatively other upper secondary education combined with documented long experience working with people with intellectual disabilities.
• Language Skills: Very good Swedish in speech and writing.
• Knowledge in Core Subjects: It is meritorious if you have knowledge in some of our core subjects within property and construction, hotel, restaurant, and bakery, or health, care, and social work.

You have a good understanding of how humans acquire knowledge and of people's different prerequisites. You adapt your way of conveying your message to the recipient.

Employment Terms

• Salary Form: Monthly salary.
• Employment Type: Fixed-term employment.
• Duration: 6 months or longer.
• Start Date: August 10, 2026, or by agreement.
• End Date: 2027-06-18.
• Working Hours: Daytime.

Interim service. Fixed-term during the school year 26/27, but with a good chance of extension.
