About Vegby School
Vegby School is one of two schools in the Tvärred school district and shares a principal with the other school in the area. It is a small F-6 school (preschool class to grade 6) with approximately 80 students in grades F-6, as well as an after-school center. The school also includes an after-school center where about 45 students are enrolled. Ten educators work daily at the school and the after-school center. The teachers are well-qualified. The student health team is fully qualified and consists of a special needs educator, a special education teacher, a school nurse, and a school counselor. We have clearly defined work groups in the form of work teams, various development groups, as well as groups for student and parental influence.
Outdoor Environment
Vegby School is nicely located near a lake and forest, just over a mile outside Ulricehamn. The schoolyard was renovated in 2020 and offers an stimulating outdoor environment that invites students to many different activities, both during breaks and after-school hours. Here, we work with planned and organized break activities to promote movement, community, and create good conditions for well-being and security.
Indoor Environment
The school's premises were renovated and completed in the summer of 2023. The classrooms are bright and cozy and have been equipped with new furniture in recent years. The staff room is newly renovated and welcoming. The workroom accommodates all teachers and offers a good overview of the schoolyard. The kitchen has been expanded into a cooking kitchen, which has also made the dining hall larger and more functional.

Responsibilities
We are a small work team, and we divide the subjects among ourselves so that our qualifications and strengths are utilized as effectively as possible.
The position involves teaching students in grades 3-6 with responsibility for both teaching, planning, and student development. Duties include:
- Plan lessons and work areas
- Teach subjects such as Swedish, Mathematics, English, Natural Science, Social Science, Art, and Music
- Assess and grade students
- Support students' social and academic development
- Communicate with guardians
- Collaborate with other teachers, special needs educators, and student health services
- Create structure and security in the classroom
- Work with additional adaptations
The intermediate school years are a period when students become increasingly independent but still have a great need for clear support, structure, and secure relationships. Therefore, the role involves not only subject knowledge but also leadership, motivation, and helping students develop study skills, responsibility, and confidence in their own abilities.
Working at the intermediate school level offers the opportunity to meet students who are ready for more advanced reasoning while still being curious, open, and motivated to learn.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is outgoing and proactive in planning the operations. You are responsible and have the ability to build good relationships with students and create trust with guardians. Furthermore, you have good knowledge of child development and learning, as well as an understanding that children have different needs and prerequisites.
You are good at building relationships, can sense what is needed in different situations, and dare to make decisions when required. You communicate clearly and listen attentively to both children and adults. As a person, you are patient, solution-focused, and cooperative, while also being able to work independently.
As an intermediate school teacher, you need to be able to combine clarity, patience, and engagement. Students in grades 4-6 are in a period where they develop significantly, both academically and socially. Therefore, you are not only a pedagogue but also a secure adult and leader in the students' daily lives.
