Description

We are now looking for a Spanish teacher for grades 6-9. The position is a fixed-term employment during the school year 2026/2027.

Jättestensskolan is a municipal primary school located in southern Biskopsgården, on Hisingen in Gothenburg. We have a multicultural catchment area that includes students from various backgrounds. The school has just over 600 students and around 75 employees. The student health team and administration are located at the school along with our own caretaker.

At Jättestensskolan, the entire primary school is represented; preschool class, after-school care, and grades 1-9. We also offer break-time activities and homework help. There are two schoolyards and in addition to the regular classrooms, there are craft rooms, art rooms, science labs, music rooms, home economics rooms, a spacious gymnasium, and a large common room.

Gamlestadsskolan is a preschool to grade 9 school located in the heart of the historic Gamlestaden district, with children and students primarily from the local area and other parts of East Gothenburg. The district of Gamlestaden is currently in a very expansive phase with several planned projects to become one of Gothenburg's most important hubs for communication, housing, and services in the future.

At Gamlestadsskolan, there are approximately 550 students in grades preschool to 9, and we also have four after-school care centers where our youngest students can receive care. The school also has a special needs school (AGR) and the E-track, which is a central special needs unit. At our school, safety, community, and learning are at the center. Here, students have influence, dedicated teachers, and a meaningful after-school activity where every child has the opportunity to grow – both as a student and as a human being. We actively work to create a "we-feeling" where the school's teachers and students jointly feel responsible for the school's environment and well-being.

Job Responsibilities

We offer an exciting and challenging assignment where you work with the purpose and goal that all students should have a meaningful, stimulating, and challenging activity based on the Curriculum. The position includes planning, implementation, and evaluation of teaching in your subjects, which is done in collaboration with your teaching colleagues.

Both Gamlestadsskolan and Jättestensskolan are active schools, and we place great emphasis on being physically active because we are convinced that it creates good conditions for learning for our students and a good work environment for our staff. At our school, all staff jointly take responsibility for the school's values and work actively to counteract harassment and bullying. As a teacher, you are offered to eat a pedagogical lunch together with the students in the schools' bamba.

All teachers have joint meeting and planning time one day a week, and all employees meet at the school's workplace meetings.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with the eligibility to teach Spanish in grades 6-9. If you have previous experience in teaching, we see it as an asset, but we also welcome those who are newly graduated.

As a person, you are a skilled teacher who can adapt your teaching to the student's needs. You are clear in your communication and you work well with others by listening, showing interest, and respect. You understand the common mission and work to make it as good as possible. You can change how you work when things change, and you can quickly change your perspective and attitude and see opportunities in changes. Furthermore, you are structured by planning, organizing, and prioritizing the work in an efficient way. You ensure that the work is completed on time and follow up on the results.
