Student Support/Assistant 80% at Realgymnasiet in Gothenburg

At Realgymnasiet in Gothenburg, you will work in a wonderful team to create a safe and inclusive learning environment. We are a school with approximately 400 students. Our students can study the Nature Conservation Programme, the Vehicle and Transport Programme, and the Hotel and Tourism Programme.

We are looking for a Student Support Assistant

We are currently seeking a student support assistant who can support, help, and structure the school day for a student with NPF (Neuropsychiatric Function Impairments). We are looking for someone with experience working with children or young people, preferably in a school setting, who is confident, calm, and clear in their approach. You are relationship-building and professional in your interactions, while being sensitive and attentive to others' needs. You are responsible, reliable, and flexible, and can adapt your approach to the student's needs. Furthermore, you have a low-affective approach, good patience, and the ability to create structure for others and predictability in daily life.

In this role, you work closely with the student and in the class the student belongs to. Support may also be provided during the student's practical training one day/week. Since the student is on a nature conservation programme with a focus on companion animals, it is necessary that you feel comfortable working with animals. As a student support assistant, you work to help and stimulate the student towards learning, development, and independence, both individually and in groups. The role involves creating a safe environment and framework for the student with a focus on studies and conditions for developing cooperation and relationships at school. You need to have good ability to collaborate with colleagues and guardians. You must be able to meet requirements from teachers, which you then adapt to the student's conditions, providing feedback to the teacher if the student needs a different setup.

The position also includes providing support to other students at the school, requiring good ability to interact with upper secondary students. You need to be independent and identify where needs exist within the operations.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with one of the following:

• Upper secondary school diploma from the Child and Youth Programme with a focus on pedagogy or social work.
• Approved education within the professional package "Student Assistant" within adult education or equivalent education via folk high school.
• Other education that the employer assesses as equivalent and sufficiently extensive within pedagogy, child development, and learning.

Merits
