About the workplace

The Adapted Primary School in Ale is located in Älvängen. It is divided into three school units for grades 1-6, with after-school care, located at Kronaskolan and Orion on Skolvägen, and grades 7-9 at Aroseniusskolan. We have good connections to Gothenburg and nature is right around the corner. The schools are beautifully situated in nature in Älvängen. There are approximately 65 students at the school. Our student health team consists of the principal, special education teacher, school counselor, study and career counselor, school nurse, and school psychologist. Our unit goal is to increase the quality of teaching for students' learning through clear division of responsibilities, trust-based management and leadership. We are a workplace that encourages trying new paths; we are interested in development in all forms and have the courage to be innovative. We are passionate about all forms of communication and dare to practice and test new alternative and complementary aids. All to give every student the opportunity to participate in their development and learning.

We work preventively and health-promoting to develop the quality of the operations. We conduct competence development, share new knowledge in the special pedagogical field with staff at the school unit, and work actively with the entire school's learning environments.

Job Description

As a teacher at the adapted primary school, you conduct creative teaching and find strategies to reach every student and strengthen them in both knowledge development and personal growth. When the desire is there, learning is easy. Therefore, we want you to work with variation in teaching and great engagement so that every student finds their energy.

You teach in all stages and in subject areas as well as subjects.

Your duties include, among other things, planning, implementing, and evaluating the pedagogical work based on the school's steering documents and the student's needs and interests, individually as well as together with the work team you belong to. You collaborate with other school staff for a good learning and working environment for both students and staff, and participate in the school's development work.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed teacher in crafts (slöjd). We would like you to have qualifications in at least one additional subject and will adjust the schedule based on the subject qualifications you have. We are interested in you who have high ambitions and who like to work for common goals and visions. You are a team player who likes collaboration and a student-democratic approach. You have a good ability to create and maintain relationships with both children, young people, and adults. You are clear in your leadership and secure in your professional role towards students, guardians, and colleagues. You reflect on methods and approaches and strive to develop as a teacher. You also have good experience and knowledge of working with relevant digital tools. You have good insight into and knowledge of the school's steering documents and can use them effectively in your daily work. Furthermore, you have good didactic and pedagogical skills and can therefore lead and organize your work to create study peace and a good learning environment for our students throughout their school day.

We see that you have experience working with students in need of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), or alternatively complementary communication, and have the ability to interpret social interactions and signals from students. Furthermore, we see that you are an adult role model, and are secure and trust-building with a professional and low-affective approach.

We would like you to have experience working with PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System). We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
