The Department of Swedish, Multilingualism and Language Technology conducts education, research, and collaboration within the subjects of Swedish, Swedish as a second language, multilingualism, and language technology. The education includes courses at undergraduate and advanced levels, bachelor's programs, participation in teacher education, doctoral education, as well as commissioned education. Research and education focus on the structure and use of the Swedish language; individual and societal multilingualism; the Swedish language community; language policy; language and school; linguistic research infrastructure; large language models.
Job Description
The duties as a communicator at the department are distributed across a broad spectrum. You will handle all the department's ongoing communication tasks. This includes, among other things:
- Strategy and policy work, in close collaboration with the Head of Department and management group
- Editorial responsibility for the department's external web pages, intranet, and student portal
- Newsletters
- Student recruitment and advertising (both digital, on social media, and in print)
- Print production, work with templates, and support in their use
- Photography and film
- Event and fair administration
- Participate in faculty- and university-wide networks
- Take minutes and meeting notes
- And serve as daily support to the department's employees on various communication matters
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a post-secondary education in communication, or equivalent as the employer finds relevant, or alternatively equivalent competence that can be assessed as comparable. You should have a few years of experience working with communication tasks, preferably within the public sector, higher education and/or university, or other scientific activity. Good language skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, are required for the position.

At the time of appointment, a holistic assessment of the above qualifications will be made, and the person with the best prerequisites for performing the tasks will be prioritized.

Employment
The employment is a fixed-term contract for 6 months on a full- or part-time basis with placement indefinitely at the Department of Swedish, Multilingualism and Language Technology.
The start date is September 1, or as agreed.
