We are looking for a business-oriented Business Controller who wants to be a key figure in the development of our Prefab business area. We are looking for you who are not satisfied with just reporting numbers, but who want to understand the business behind the results, identify opportunities and risks, and contribute with analyses and recommendations that help the business make better decisions.

As a Business Controller, you work closely with the business area manager, functional managers, and the project organization. You will become an important sparring partner in matters concerning profitability, productivity, project management, capacity utilization, and strategic priorities. We are a project-oriented business where every deal is unique, and where good analytical skills, business understanding, and a proactive approach create real value.

As a Business Controller, you have overall responsibility for financial monitoring, analysis, and business support within the business area. You work both operationally and strategically to develop control and monitoring.

You will report to the Financial Manager and be one of 12 wonderful employees in the finance department at Thomas Betong. Your workplace will be at our headquarters on Södra vägen in central Gothenburg.

Main tasks and responsibilities as Business Controller:

• Responsible for the business area's financial monitoring, forecasts, and budget process.
• Develop and analyze the business area's profitability at project, customer, product, and business levels.
• Identify deviations, trends, and improvement opportunities and propose concrete actions.
• Advisory partner to the Business Area Manager in decisions and priorities.
• Ongoing reconciliation of project profitability and profit settlement.
• Drive the development of KPIs, dashboards, and business monitoring.
• Analyze project portfolio, occupancy, capacity utilization, and resource planning.
• Support the organization with investment and business cases.
• Initiate, lead, and drive change and development work.
• Prepare monthly accounts, forecasts, and budget work.

Qualifications and experience

• University degree in economics, industrial economics, or equivalent.
• Several years of experience as a Business Controller or in a similar role.
• You have an understanding of accounting, but are passionate about analysis and helping develop the business.
• Have worked with KPIs, budget, and forecasts, preferably in a project/production-oriented business.
• Have worked with profit settlement models and risk management, and handled issues related to project accounting.
• Have worked in business-close roles and can explain different economic relationships in a pedagogical way.
• Good system proficiency and sharp with Excel. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power BI, or ERP Bos is advantageous.
