We are now looking for an experienced Senior System Developer / ETL Specialist in Kalmar or Stockholm. This is a consultancy assignment starting in September, initially for 12 months with the possibility of extension.

In this role, you will work on an in-depth analysis of existing data pipelines, data deliveries, and integration flows. You will map system environments, identify data sources and receiving systems, and evaluate various ETL tools based on functionality, security, and scalability.

The goal is to establish a long-term sustainable and secure data infrastructure that supports future needs in data management and system integration.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and map existing system flows and data deliveries
  • Evaluate and recommend suitable ETL tools and technical solutions
  • Design, develop, and implement data pipelines
  • Work with integrations between different systems and data sources
  • Ensure requirements regarding security, encryption, logging, and traceability
  • Document architecture, solutions, and technical processes
  • Conduct knowledge transfer and support internal teams in the use and further development of the solution

We are looking for someone who has:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Senior Developer or Data Engineer with a focus on ETL development and data integration
  • Experience with complex data environments involving multiple systems, databases, and high demands on data quality
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines in production environments
  • Very good knowledge of SQL, databases, and handling large datasets
  • At least 3 years of experience developing in Python
  • Experience with technical investigations, tool evaluations, and recommending solution architecture
  • Ability to independently drive technical initiatives and collaborate closely with the business

Advantageous experience:

  • Java development
  • PostgreSQL
  • Python libraries for data handling
  • API-based data ingestion, e.g., REST API
  • Data modeling and work with structured and unstructured data sources
  • Open-source-based data platforms and tools such as Apache Airflow, Apache NiFi, Luigi, dbt, or similar

As a person, you are analytical, communicative, and confident in working both strategically and hands-on. You have the ability to understand business needs, translate them into technical solutions, and communicate complex technology in a pedagogical manner.
