We are growing and are now looking for a Material Area Manager to strengthen our team! Are you the one we are looking for?

TVK Ledsyst (Technical and Maintenance Office, Command Systems) is part of FMTIS. The main task is the procurement, configuration management, and administration of the Swedish Armed Forces' command and information systems throughout their entire lifecycle, from development to decommissioning, during war, crisis, and peace. Approximately 190 people work at TVK Ledsyst across seven departments. The Swedish Armed Forces and the unit are experiencing strong growth, leading to new challenges and assignments.

Main Responsibilities

As a Material Area Manager, you will be part of a section within the Secure Systems Department, which needs to grow and develop in line with the Swedish Armed Forces' increasing needs.

You will have delegated responsibility within the material area for intelligence and security systems. In close collaboration with units, material system managers, and technical system managers, you will drive material and coordination processes regarding the Swedish Armed Forces' material supply within your assigned area of responsibility.

  • Management, planning, and development of the material area within the Swedish Armed Forces
  • Budgeting and follow-up for the entire material area
  • Follow-up of all phases in the system lifecycle of material systems
  • Collaboration with other material areas
  • Work in national as well as international cooperation forums (e.g., with other authorities)
  • Development of governing documents, including objective documentation
  • Implementation of new systems within the Swedish Armed Forces

The tasks require technical understanding, excellent administrative skills, and the ability to overview the entire lifecycle of systems. You report to the Section Chief.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • An academic degree in engineering, IT, or systems science, or other education/experience deemed equivalent by the employer.
  • Experience in leadership positions, e.g., project management, line management, process leadership, or as an officer.
  • Experience from the defense industry, the Swedish Armed Forces, FMV, or other government agencies.
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English.

Personal Attributes

You take responsibility and are proactive in your work. You work in a structured and independent manner and are not afraid to make decisions when necessary. You are stress-resistant, have good prioritization and analytical skills. Collaboration skills, social competence, and a lack of pretension are important traits, as the work involves close collaboration with other organizational units and authorities. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience of operational work within the Swedish Armed Forces.
  • Experience of international cooperation.
  • Experience of intelligence and security systems.
  • Experience and knowledge of IT and information security.
  • Certifications in IT and information security.
  • Experience of budgeting and economic follow-up.
  • Experience from integrated business systems, preferably SAP.
  • Knowledge of ILS (Integrated Logistic System).
  • Methodological competence and experience with process-oriented working methods (e.g., ITIL, SAFe).

Other Information

Employment Type: Permanent. The Swedish Armed Forces apply a six-month probationary period for those not already employed by the agency.

Location: Stockholm. Travel within the scope of work occurs.
