The Swedish Defence University is an internationally leading higher education institution within defence, crisis management, and security. The Swedish Defence University educates Sweden's officers and leads the academic development of the officer profession. We conduct research in law with a focus on operational law and international law, defence systems, military science, leadership and management, military history, and political science.
The Security Department at the Swedish Defence University is now seeking a Signals Security Manager.
About the workplace
The Security Department is organized as part of the institution's operational support and covers readiness, crisis preparedness, signals security, security protection, and operational protection. The position is part of the security protection and operational protection area but may also become involved in other areas. The employment is based in Stockholm.
Responsibilities
You lead, coordinate, and administer the work within signals security at the Swedish Defence University. The tasks will be of both an operational and strategic character, involving a high degree of collaboration and cooperation both internally within the agency and together with external actors.
The responsibilities include, among other things:
- being responsible for and driving activities and projects within signals security, including equipment, training, and inspections
- being responsible for, together with the signals security organization, programming and loading existing updates and reinstallations into signals security systems
- developing and writing internal regulations within signals security
- training personnel in signals security and signals security systems
The responsibilities may change over time as the operations develop. You will have close collaboration with the Security and Security Protection Manager.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for you who have:
- education and authorization as a signals security manager
- a relevant academic degree or other education/work experience that the Swedish Defence University considers equivalent
- several years of extensive work experience in signals security work
- good knowledge of current legislation within the signals security service and the security protection area
- very good ability to express yourself orally and in writing in Swedish
It is meritorious if you have:
- experience of working in the public sector, preferably from a government agency and/or university/higher education
- technical knowledge regarding IT and signals security
- knowledge within the IT security area
- relevant knowledge in security protection acquired through education or work experience
Personal qualities
It is important that you have good judgment, a professional attitude, and high integrity.
You are structured and thrive working both independently and in a group in an event-driven operation where you can plan, prioritize, and deliver with a flexible approach. You lead and organize your work proactively and take own initiatives from a holistic perspective.
The job requires good cooperation skills and the ability to build good relationships. You find it easy to collaborate with different professional categories and actively contribute to a good work climate in the work group.
Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
About the employment
This is a permanent full-time position, starting with a six-month probationary period.
The employment involves placement in a security classification. For placement in a security classification, a security investigation with register check will be conducted prior to employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Swedish citizenship may be required.
The employment may involve war posting. If you are already war-posted in your current employment at an agency and your competence is needed in the Swedish Defence University's war organization, a negotiation will take place between the relevant agency and the Swedish Defence University regarding where you should be posted.
