We value our employees and offer varied and exciting projects, development opportunities, and challenges. All this with an employer that encourages work-life balance and good health.
About the Unit
The main task of the 161st Air Surveillance Battalion is to be responsible for the surveillance of Swedish airspace and air traffic control. The battalion is engaged in operational activities on a daily basis. Other tasks include the operation and protection of fortification command posts, as well as the deployment of mobile sensors and radio systems across Sweden.
The battalion staff primarily works with coordination and preparation of matters at all levels of conflict, from peace to war. The staff consists of four sections, one of which is the SIS section, which works with communications and command support systems. The section's task is to work with, among other things, the planning of the battalion's operations, such as communications and command support systems in our facilities and buildings, where IT plays a significant role.
Main Responsibilities
The position of Deputy IT Manager involves a broad and varied workload within the entire IT field. You will, among other things, work with the implementation of IT systems (including accreditation), their administration, and maintenance. Additionally, the role includes compiling and communicating the battalion's IT needs, and you will serve as a support in the development of new systems and process improvements. The role also includes administrative tasks and more practical technical work as needed.
To succeed in this, you need to build a broad network through regular collaboration with other personnel in the Swedish Armed Forces and the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV).
The Deputy IT Manager reports to the Head of the SIS section and has no direct personnel responsibility. The Deputy IT Manager has functional leadership from the IT Manager at Uppland Air Wing (F 16). The position is relatively new, allowing you to contribute significantly to shaping the role.

Personal Attributes
We are looking for a confident, non-hierarchical, and innovative person with good communication and social skills. You are clear, receptive, and have an easy time building trusting relationships both within and outside the organization. You work in a structured and analytical manner, have good collaboration skills, can see the big picture, and can switch between different perspectives. You make well-founded decisions even in complex situations and combine strategic thinking with practical implementation.
You contribute to participation, development, and a positive work climate, and drive operations forward in a changing environment.
Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
